A recent conversion of the former stables at Moonzie house in semi open-plan style, the location is secluded with lovely views, but very near the town of Cupar. It is only 20 minutes from St Andrews or Dundee and 1 hour by train or car to Edinburgh. Artist owned, the studio is quirky and characterful with its spiral staircase and occasional vintage furniture. The studio will comfortably accommodate 4-6 people but up to 8 if complete privacy all round not an issue! There is one double bedroom downstairs, one twin bedroom upstairs, a double sofa bed in the main living area and an additional 3 single mattresses which can be set up on the mezzanine area. On the mezzanine you will find a television and DVD player and selection of DVD'S. There are various games, jigsaw puzzles and a selection of books for entertainment. The living space, in addition to sofa, armchairs and coffee table has a dining table and chairs. A selection of music CD's is available and can be played on the system which will also connect by blue-tooth or cable to your MP3 player - there is wireless internet though being a rural location the speeds are not very fast. A large double glass door/window opens onto a small terrace where there is a bench - a collapsible table and chairs which are kept in the hallway can also be taken outside. The main living space houses the kitchen area with sink, gas hob, electric oven, microwave oven, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is a drying rack on which to hang washing and an iron and ironing board. The bathroom is equipped with bath, shower, loo and basin, towels and a hairdryer. The studio has underfloor heating and hot water as and when required. The studio has its own front door and there is a private parking area with space for 2 medium sized cars, further parking can be made available if needed. The property is surrounded by fields so there is plenty of scope for walking. Most of the land is agricultural so the countryside code needs to be observed for example, not walking over cropped fields, sticking to the verges etc. access to the neighbouring farmyard is forbidden to people and pets! The studio has a selection of leaflets, brochures and maps providing information on local sites and places of interest but we are happy to offer additional advice and help if wanted. Moonzie is within easy reach of the East Neuk of Fife, a charming coastline peppered with small fishing and harbour towns. The beaches at St. Andrews are approximately 10 miles away and the wonderful Kinshaldy beach at Tentsmuir Forest around 8 miles. Cupar is home to several traditional pubs. Indian, Chinese, Italian food as well as and fish and chips and kebabs are widely available. There are four supermarkets, banks and convenience stores as well as several small independent shops. There are several world class restaurants in the area such as Ostlers Close Restaurant in Cupar, The Peat Inn at Peat inn, The Fish Restaurant and The Old Course in St Andrews and The Wee Restaurant and Dakota at Queensferry. The nearest main airport is Edinburgh Turnhouse which is 50 minutes drive. A car is advisable if travelling from the airport, taxi is an expensive option. There is also a small airport in Dundee with limited UK flights. The nearest bus stop is a mile away and the service not frequent so a car is highly recommended, bicycle, taxi or foot are the alternatives! Distances: The nearest town is Cupar which is 3 miles away. St Andrews is 13 miles, 25 minutes by car; Perth is 20 miles, 30 minutes by car; Edinburgh is 45 miles, 1 hour by car or train from Cupar and Dundee is 13 miles away approximately 20 minutes by car and 30 minutes by train. The studio has wonderful views over nearby Lordscairnie castle, an historic ruin and is located close to the the ancient Moonzie Kirk, a site of worship since the 12th century (now only open for service once a year or very occasional weddings, christenings and funerals). There are numerous places of interest in the area, from historic to sporting.
