Spacious, Sherwood Arboretum One-Bedroom Sanctuary
Lovely, spacious one-bedroom unit located in picturesque Sherwood with views to Brisbane's newest Botanical Gardens, Sherwood Arboretum. Situated in a quiet culdesac and adjoining Sherwood Arboretum, this one-bedroom unit has been created by sectioning off part of the upstairs of a large home occupied by only two residents. Off-street parking for one car is available in the carport and the unit is accessible via a spiral staircase from the carport. Your hosts, Pam and Alastair, will be available as needed and will be on hand to answer any questions. Sherwood is located 11km from Brisbane CBD, taking 20 minutes by car or by train. Sherwood Train Station is located 9 minutes walk from the unit up a short but steep hill. Near the Sherwood Train Station, you will find a Woolworths supermarket, bakery, post office, newsagent, bottle and speciality shops as well as cafes and takeaway food outlets. In the other direction, within 18 minutes walk, you will find the flourishing local hub of Graceville which includes cafes, restaurants, a delicatessen, boutique gift shops and even an old school cinema (Regal Twin). Brisbane icons, the Lone Pine Koala Sanctury and Mt Cootha gardens and lookout are all within in an easy drive, as well as the large Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, University of Queensland and Tennyson Tennis Centre. Not to keep banging on about it, but the Sherwood Arbortem is a lovely park, adjacent to the Brisbane River, where you can learn about some very interesting tree species, feed the ducks and turtles, have a BBQ or picnic and generally enjoy the great warm Brisbane weather only a stone's throw from your unit. Trains into the city run every 15 minutes during the day from Sherwood Train Station. Bus route 598, the Great Circle Line, is also accessible within a 9 minute walk from the unit and allows you to travel around Brisbane's outer suburbs in an anti-clockwise direction (without needing to travel through the city). There are two alternate routes into the city from Sherwood by car, either through Indooroopilly/Toowong or via Tennyson/Yeronga, both approx. 20 minutes and allows easy access to Brisbane's tunnel networks.
