Situated at the quiet end of the main street of Angaston, this classic late 1800s cottage features modern and comfortable décor as well as a fully fenced, level backyard. The Space: Pembury is a luxury self-contained property, beautifully renovated, classic late 1800s cottage, with a modern and comfortable décor and secure backyard . Located in historic Angaston Pembury Cottage comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests with 3 king sized bedrooms and a shower room and 2 toilets. Provisions are supplied for a continental breakfast, on the first morning of your stay. Settle into the comfortable lounge with a wood burning combustion stove, or head out to the large covered pergola, complete with gas BBQ, or relax in the covered eating area under the verandah. We supply enough wood for 2 nights use. All rooms have reverse cycle split system air-conditioners for year-round comfort. Take an easy stroll down the street to the many cafes and restaurants, no cabs required! Great pizzas, coffee, Italian Cooking School at Casa Carboni, the Barossa Valley Cheese Company, Thai restaurant - lots of options to keep you fed and entertained all within close proximity. HISTORY Built in the 1880s, Pembury Cottage is one of the early homes in Angaston. It has had several owners throughout its history, at one time the family ran a tailor’s shop from a shed at the side of the building. Previous owners tell us they had no electricity and water had to be collected from the well to the side of the building. Each house on the street had its own well. Our accommodation offers fully equipped modern kitchen facilities with inside and outside dining areas comfortably seating 6 people. The rate is based on 2 guests (one bed) - an additional charges per person for the second and third bedrooms. The Neighborhood: Angaston known as the Jewel of the Barossa offers a great diversity of restaurants, cafe's, a cooking school and Taste Eden Valley, a tasting room featuring wines exclusively from Eden Valley. Easy access to the other towns of the Barossa is within a 8 minute drive which opens up this great wine and food region. Don't forget the Farmers Market every Saturday, do some shopping, have some breakfast and cook up a great dinner in the modern kitchen, Or, let us get the chef to do that for you! Getting Around: There is a taxi service but no Uber available in the area. As a special offer to our guests we can arrange a private wine tour for the day guided by Jonathan from Barossa Taste Sensations and your host at Pembury Cottage. Drawing on over 10 year experience the tour focuses on the boutique wineries that highlight the diversity of this great wine region. Inquire for availability and our 'guest' rate. Other Things to Note: Kate and Jonathan have lived locally for many years. They are well known characters. Jonathan has 10 years experience running wine tours, Barossa Taste Sensation and we are pleased to offer our guests a special rate. if you are interested please let us know and we can send further details. Should any need arise they can assist with suggested itineraries. Otherwise you will have the house to yourselves and will not be disturbed Please do give us a call if you do require anything. We can organise great local chefs to provide an' in house' degustation dinner (no need to go out after a day of wine tasting) or provisions for a picnic. Prior notice is required.
