Mine is a QUIET RETREAT on a very quiet road with everything one needs for a longer stay, including strong Wi-Fi for those WORKING REMOTELY. As for work space. Yes. Some people have written plays here right at the table. Others prefer to hang in the back yard on a lounge chair and video conference thanks to the strong signal. Wifi hits hard in both back and front yards. The living room is a quiet, gentle hangout with a large smart TV, fab vintage stereo and healthy stock of VINYL and books to choose from. GAMERS have noted how much fun it is to play when they make the easy switch to run the game through the stereo. And the OPEN LAYOUT is set up so you can stay in touch with others in the fully stocked and roomy EAT IN KITCHEN. NEW!!!!! Really excited to have JUST upgraded to a giant KING SIZE BED in the main bedroom. Ever slept on a CASPER? Try out this brand new one. You won’t regret it. Slumber will come quick in the guest room too thanks to a comfy, plush memory foam queen size bed. Both rooms are especially quiet, but a couple of Tivoli Radios are up there for a little extra fun. TUNE INTO WDST, our local radio station, and discover what WOODSTOCK ROCK really is! You’ve got full use of the dressers for your stuff and a large closet to toss your luggage in. The large bathroom beckons you with a refreshing, high-pressure rain shower and the calming scent of imported jasmine oil plus some additional NEW UPGRADES for your added comfort. And our lush towels don’t disappoint! In the morning have home brewed complimentary coffee on the back steps with our local assortment of entertaining Squirrels, whimsical Butterflies, cute Sparrows and an assortment of other feathered friends as you plan your day. Once settled in you may want to chill and make some Espresso in the fully stocked kitchen or just leave your stuff and head back to the heart of the Hamlet. Plenty of food and drink there! Depending on the time, you may end up having breakfast at the Phoenicia Diner or enjoy happy hour at the Sportsman’s Alamo Cantina. Or choose to grab some groceries at the local supermarket and head back to do some cooking. All is just a short walk even with a couple bags of groceries. I’ve done it many times, even in a snowstorm! Being a dog lover I offer my home to folks with crate trained dogs too! When making your reservation let me know who your dog is and we can discuss if my house is the right fit. If it's a go a $35 per night, per pet fee will be added as an adjustment to your reservation. Fur bearers are not allowed on the furniture and they may not be left alone in the house unless crated. And when outside, please clean up after your pet. I don't hate cats, but those and other type pets are not permitted. I’m Jay by the way. I’m a local guy that lives right in Phoenicia and I’ll be available should anything come up. I can meet you at the house and say hello, coach you on setting the heat and running the stereo and then just leave you alone or you can just let yourself in with the keypad lock on the front door. The Heart of Phoenicia is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood. Chirping Crickets at night. Birds in the morning. The occasional lawnmower by day and a nostalgic noontime fire whistle are what you'll hear aside from the bells that chime in the centuries old church steeple down the lane. You are so close to the center of town that you could kick a soccer ball from out in front of the house and it would land on Main Street! Plenty to walk to, but if you have a car the sky is the limit. The Trailways bus stop is about where that soccer ball would stop. As nice as the house is, Phoenicia itself is the real star of any stay. For skiers, Belleayre and Hunter Mountains are only 15 minutes away. Like to hike? There are trails that start not far from the front door. A stroll along the cleaned streets and sidewalks will be fun and romantic and may lead you to the Hamlets outskirts where the cool Phoenicia Diner and unique Woodstock Brewery sit. I should mention the Phoenicia Playhouse too since you’ll be walking past it quite a bit. Several times a year they produce great live performances from small dramas by Mamet to big musicals from Sondheim. They bring lots of film and live music to town too.
