Wonderful centrally located mews cottage
Newly refurbished semi detached mews cottage, fantastically located in the centre of the Old Saxon market town of Wareham . The house is just a hundred meters away from the shops and the River Frome. Plenty of nearby amenities including cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops, supermarket, a cinema, Church and river walks. Within just a few miles are many beauty spots, tourist attractions, beaches, forest and Poole Harbour. An abundance of things to see and do in this stunning part of the world! A newly renovated mews house just a short walk from Wareham Quay. Step up from the cobble stoned road through the doorway into the open planned ground floor of the property incorporating lounge, dining and kitchen areas with a lovely central duel aspect log burner. The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, washing machine, fridge freezer and all of the usual kitchen equipment. A television and radio can be found downstairs with broadband connected. The staircase (with hand rail) leads to the first floor with a bathroom (standing shower in the full sized bath, heated towel rail, basin & toilet), main bedroom (standard double bed, integral wardrobe dressing table with drawers) and 2nd bedroom (bunk beds, integral wardrobe and bookcase). The house has gas central heating and hot water. A travel cot, high chair, stair gate and log burner guard can be provided on request. It is however recommended that the log burner should not be lit if young children are staying in the property. Please exercise caution at all times. The property is located near the centre of Wareham so shops, cafes, restaurants and the river are all just minutes away on foot. There are three on street parking spaces opposite the house, if these are not available usually a space can be found further up the road or on a residential street within a few minutes walk away. There is also a ticketed car park just off Worgret Road. The house is available to book Saturday to Saturday for a minimum of 7 nights during high season and minimum 3 nights during low season. If booking a winter break we can be more flexible. There is no outside space with the house but many parks and green spaces including the river with its towpath just minutes away. Whilst there is no parking with the property you can pull up on to the private road which the house is situated on to load/unload your vehicle. On street unrestricted parking in close proximity to the house. Storage can be provided for bikes on request. The property is listed so unfortunately we have been unable to adjust access to accommodate those with mobility difficulties i.e there is a step up to the door, the doorway is a little narrow as are the stairs. The location of this property is ideal, situated in a residential road but just a 100 meter walk to Abbots Quay where you can hire a boat (Wareham Boat Hire!) kayak, stand up paddle board or relax on a boat trip on the River Frome. Wareham Quay is on the other side of the road from Abbots Quay (South Street) which holds a bustling Saturday Market. There are an abundance of cafes, pubs, shops and restaurants all within walking distance and a fantastic independent cinema (The Rex) in West street. Wareham offers numerous beautiful places to walk, cycle or rest. The train station is just 1 mile away and a regular bus service operates with bus stops on south street, again just a minute or two walk from the house. A tourist information centre is located in the library on South Street. Wareham is a perfect base as ‘The Gateway to The Purbecks’ to explore the Jurassic coastline and all of the joys that has to offer! We live opposite the property so can be available to assist or advise if required and would be delighted to do so! Enjoy!
