The Capanna Sud upper floor of 50 mq has two ample, bright rooms with windows looking out to beautiful westerly views. Each room has its own bathroom and a separate entrance. Off a dining terrace of 19mq, the south room has a kitchenette and pull-out sofa for a matrimonial bed. The adjacent, north room has a matrimonial and single bed with its own terrace of 10mq under the loggia, with another lovely view. Our estate, known as Capitignano, is beautifully situated on a Tuscan hillside with magnificent vistas overlooking olive groves and vineyards that slope down into the Mugello Valley. There is a tennis court and swimming pool on the property, with lovely walks radiating out across the unspoiled countryside, an artist's paradise. There are four converted farm buildings at Capitignano. All are charmingly restored and furnished, with central heating and linens. Florence, treasury of many of the world's finest masterpieces and overflowing with fascinating shops, open markets, craftsmen's workshops, and many fine restaurants, is only a forty-minute drive away. Fiesole, the Etruscan hill-top town, is half-way into Florence and definitely worth a visit. It offers several restaurants, shops, a Cathedral, and a Roman amphitheatre where a varied program of music, theatre, and dance is performed during the summer. Further afield, Lucca, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Arezzo, Assisi, Ravenna, and Bologna are all within a 2 hours' drive. The nearest town of Borgo San Lorenzo is only a 10 minute drive and meets all shopping needs. Borgo has public tennis courts, a municipal swimming pool, and a convenient train and bus service to Florence. Bicycles can be rented in Borgo, as well as horses for country trekking 20 minutes away in Barberino. Podere Capitignano consists of several buildings and surrounding olive groves, vineyards, fields, and woods, on a hilltop about 25 km north of Florence, in the upper Sieve River valley in northern Tuscany. Some of the buildings have ancient Roman and Medieval origins and one of the summits on the property may have been an Etruscan burial-ground. The nearest town, Borgo San Lorenzo, is only a 10 minute drive away and fulfills all shopping needs. Borgo has public tennis courts, a municipal swimming pool and convenient train and bus connections to Florence. Bicycles can be rented in Borgo, as can horses for trekking in Barberino, 20 minutes away. In the Villa Pecori Giraldi in Borgo San Lorenzo there is a small ceramic museum in which the work of the local artist Chini is exhibited. The Mugello race track is only 13 kilometers away and is definitely worth a visit! The race track is used by the Ferrari Formula 1 team as a test track and is the venue for various car races (Mugello). In the riding stables in Barberino, 20 kilometers away, we can book riding lessons for you on request. The property is not reached by the public transport network, so it is advisable to travel with your own vehicle. Free private parking is available without booking. There are five houses for rent at Capitignano. All are charmingly restored and furnished, with central heating and linens.
