Pregge Mill is a spacious and beautifully restored Welsh cottage with oak and mahogany finishing throughout, carved out of an old water wheel powered grain mill above the village of Crickhowell on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Please note that we are not a dog friendly establishment. Pregge Mill is a well established holiday home, carved out of the original over 200 year old property that served Crickhowell with milled grain and later electricity via its water wheel tucked above the village on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Exceeding the expectations of a five star quality establishment, it is a spacious and beautifully restored Welsh cottage with oak and mahogany finishing throughout. As you step out of your front door the majestic Usk Valley provides an unrivaled escape to nature and the outdoors. The cottage is a very spacious and beautifully restored Welsh cottage on two floors. The ground floor comprises: A double bedroom with oak wardrobe and dressing table, chair and bedside tables and clock radio open through French doors onto a patio area and garden space- perfect for an evening drink listening to the stream which used to power Pregge Mill.( outdoor furniture with cushions are provided) please note Pregge Mill has only one double bed, no bed settee! A recently renovated fully tiled shower room with modern fittings. Towels, shower mats and toiletries are provided. A sitting room with oak floor and rugs, leather sofas, oak bookcases (fully stocked with books to share) TV, digital box and DVD player. Climb the open mahogany staircase to a very large lounge area with outstanding views over the Usk Valley. This comprises another sitting area with three and two seater leather sofas, a TV , DVD, digital box, radio and sound system and your own wifi unit. The kitchen area has an induction hob, dishwasher, combination microwave and oven, fridge and freezer, toaster and kettle. A modern oak table and chairs, Welsh dresser and ample cupboard space complete the kitchen. Choose a trail, a hike, or simply the peace and relaxing calm. Spot red kites soaring over the hills, stroll along the pristine river waters of the Usk or Wye, or curl up with a book in the shadow of the mountains. A brief ten minute walk puts you on the tranquil village high street. Perfect for walking weekends or romantic breaks, nestling near the base of Table mountain. Pregge Mill is easily accessed via road, rail or air. The approximate travel time to Pregge Mill is 3/4 hours from either central London or Manchester. We are located a short 10 minute walk from the village centre and a scenic 10 minute drive separates us from the bustling market town of Abergavenny. We have private off road parking directly in front of the cottage. We provide fresh tea, coffee, juice and milk for all our guests. We offer a homemade loaf and jam, guests can choose which type of flour. We are happy to provide other provisions for breakfast on request.
