We're located just a short distance, only five kilometres, from the heritage listed and historical township of Toodyay. Serenity Cottage sits high amongst the trees and the deck is a great place to bird watch. It’s also a fantastic place to relax and you'll have Serenity Cottage all to yourself. Although occasionally one of our cats may wish to join you on the deck for belly-rubs. Serenity and Toodyay are central to some fantastic walking trails & lovely wildflower country. The wood fire is stocked for those few rare chilly eve’s & ready to light. The cottage itself has a fully self-contained kitchen, with a small eatery and lounge area. The lounge is cozy and includes a TV and a few DVD's - please note: there is no TV reception. However, you are more than welcome to bring your own movies and the TV also has USB ports. The master bedroom contains a queen ensemble with zero gravity settings and massage. There’s a single ensemble in the small second bedroom (please let us know if you require the use of the second bedroom/single bed, thank you). Bedding is available, however you are welcome to provide your own. Please note: Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations. Serenity Cottage has it's own driveway directly off Toodyay West Road; you can drive up to and park either behind or underneath the cottage. There is undercover parking - the cottage is a Queenslander, so parking for small vehicles and motorbikes is available under the cottage. There is also enough room for two vehicles to park behind the cottage. While there is no external power supply, we do have ample room for caravans and trailers if you're towing, and plenty of turn around space as well - just let us know in advance so that we can accommodate you and your vehicles. Serenity Cottage is where our family and friends stay when they come to visit. So even though it is a part of our small property, and you are welcome to roam the acreage, however please respect our privacy (our home) as we respect yours. We are happy to assist you - if there is something that we can do to improve your stay, please let us know. You are more than welcome to text me during your stay. Our neighbourhood is made up of special rural and conservation properties. Mostly artisans, or retired farmers down-sizing. Each of the properties in the vacinity runs on acerage. Sanctuary on Avon is on the corner of West Toodyay Road and Leeder Street. Leeder Street runs parallel to the Avon River, so it's a terrific place to stay during the Avon Descent which is run annually. There is no local public transport in Toodyay, however there is the Avonlink train service, which traverses between Northam and Perth twice daily. As we are only 5km from Toodyay itself, bicycles are a great way to get around if you have them. There are some major walk trails in and around the shire, so bring your walking boots with you. If it's winter, we also recommend bringing your wellies - great for tromping around the paddock whilst leaving your walking boots dry. Serenity Cottage is a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you are travelling up to Toodyay via train, please let us know so we can make arrangements to collect you from the train station and deliver you back at the end of your stay. NB: reception of any kind is somewhat dodgy in our area, so please be advised - you may, or you may not have good phone coverage whilst you are staying with us. Some of our guests seem to have no trouble at all, whilst others have had next to no reception. However, this is something that I cannot do anything about. I would kindly point out though, that this IS the country you are coming too. Further, there are no black spots that I am aware of in the town of Toodyay itself. Finally, the town Library has free wifi access and computers for use by members of the public. 18 September Make Smoking History Targa West Rally 19 September Toodyay Farmers Market 25-27 September Vino Art Exhibition—Coorinja Winery September Toodyay Picnic Race Day 9 October Toodyay Agricultural Show 17 October Toodyay Farmers Market 5-7 November Bush Poetry Festival 11 November Remembrance Day 21 November Toodyay Farmers Market December Christmas Street Party 19 December Toodyay Farmers Market December Carols in the Parkland
