Emily’s Holiday House near Lake Mac, Ogallala NE
Emily’s Holiday House is a special place. This unit is a FEMA home and was brought to Ogallala after it had been a refuge for victims of the 2013 Northern Colorado flood. As Red Cross disaster volunteers, my husband and I wanted to preserve a piece of history from this iconic event. The unique design of this well-insulated, all electric home meets ADA guidelines, with extra wide doorways and wheelchair accessible bathroom. Enjoy the comforts of home while experiencing the magic of Lake Mac. This home is located in a quiet community “on the hill”, about three miles from the local beach access to Lake Mac. Guests have access to the kitchen, bathroom and living area. There is an outdoor space available that has patio furniture, a grill and a chiminea for an outdoor fire. Wood is provided. My husband and I are available anytime guests need us. We occupy one of the bedrooms unless Emily’s Holiday House is rented, at which time we stay in another unit on the park. We like to socialize, but as managers we are usually busy with projects in the property. We are located “on the hill”, close to the hospital, three miles from the local beach access to Lake McConaughy. The property is a small quiet community that has permanent residents as well as those who come for vacation. We are about two miles from downtown Ogallala and a city park about a mile from us. We have plenty of parking if you have more than one vehicle or are bringing a boat, jet skis etc. Ogallala has a local bus service if needed. Grocery stores in Ogallala include Safeway or Walmart. We tea, coffee and condiments available to guests.
