Sleeping eight, this luxury detached farmhouse is set in an idyllic, secluded countryside setting with a historic connection to the wife of the golf legend; Tom Morris. This rural haven is only a 10-minute drive to St. Andrews, which hosts the largest public golf complex in Europe, spectacular beaches, Scotland's oldest University, with historical architecture at the Cathedral and Castle. As soon as you enter - you will know you are welcome. This country retreat has been completely renovated incorporating; energy conservation - with a ground-heat source pump powering the hot water and underfloor heating while incorporating the modern essentials of WIFI, Bluetooth and Satellite TV. The open plan free-flowing ground floor is perfect if you have people in your group who need to stay on one floor. The ground floor king-size en-suite bedroom with access to a stone-paved patio and snug can be configured into a stand-alone ‘suite’. Let’s take a tour: By entering the open-plan bespoke country kitchen through French doors, you can sit and take off your walking, golf or dancing shoes before hanging up your coat in the hallway. The kitchen houses luxury KitchenAid appliances including; a large pantry fridge freezer with filtered water, dual drawer dishwasher, wine fridge, and a stand mixer so you can bake a cake for afternoon tea or, of course, you could just cheat and buy treats from the award-winning bakeries close by. This is a spacious and well-appointed kitchen is set for gourmet cooking; with a two oven cooker and eight gas burner hob. The morning can get off to a great start with the DeLonghi Magnifica coffee maker, Dualit toaster and kettle. The microwave is inbuilt in the kitchen pantry cupboard along with a flat-screen TV to catch up on the day’s news. The cupboards are packed with multiple appliances including; Molineux juicer, NutriBullet, and crepe maker. The large central marble island provides ample space to prepare a gourmet meal or serve a buffet. Off the kitchen, there is a large utility room with a dual butler’s sink, access to a washing machine, ‘American’ tumble-drier, iron, ironing board, and access to a warm air clothes drying cupboard. Just off the utility room is a toilet and access to the rear entrance of the property. Walking up two steps from the kitchen brings you to the eight seat dining room table which is made from re-purposed wood from Fremantle Dock in Western Australia. Dining crockery, cutlery, and glasses for both casual and more formal dining are stored in the dining unit and the pantry cupboards in the kitchen. Walking past the dining room you enter the lounge and entertainment room with two winged backed sofas and leather chairs. The dual French doors look out onto the woodland. On opening, there is stone paving, so pull up a seat and observe the local wildlife; including ‘Fat Tony’ - the grey squirrel. Other entertainment can be sought via Satellite TV or you can stream your own playlists via Bluetooth to the surround sound music system. While more ‘traditional’ entertainment is available via the library of books and board games. Open the two oak doors and you enter the snug and study. This room has two ‘love’ seats on either side of an open fireplace or sit at the desk to plan your day or catch up on emails. Walking left past the desk you enter a hallway into the ground floor shower ensuite and a king-size bedroom with French door access to a stone-paved sitting area. The view is of the garden mature and surrounding countryside. On arrival, the bed is made up with crisp white Egyptian cotton bed linen (please note all beds are made up and to the same quality and standard). The marble-topped bedside cabinets house large lamps. The floor-to-ceiling bespoke wardrobes, house drawers, and vanity units provide ample space for clothes and luggage. For your convenience and comfort, wooden coat hangers, tissues, cotton wool, hairdryer and hair straighteners are located in the vanity unit. White bath & hand towels and bath mat and are provided on arrival with additional supplies available in the utility room (these are available in all relevant rooms). The ensuite has a large walk-in dual head rainfall shower, toilet, and sink with integral vanity unit. The small window overlooks the woodland, while the ceiling Velux window provides sunlight during the day and stars at night. For the cooler evenings the electric towel rail will warm your towels and PJs. The snug and ground floor king-size bedroom and shower room can be configured to a stand-alone ‘suite’. Walking through the snug once more you enter the main hallway with the front door and giving access to a large cupboard and staircase to the upper level. Your coats and luggage can be stored in the cupboard which also stores books and board games. The crystal lamps reflect off the hall mirror providing additional light. On climbing the stairs; three bedrooms and two bathrooms are accessible. On the left-hand side - the Master bedroom and bathroom. These two rooms were redesigned from the original floor plan which incorporated two bedrooms and a bathroom providing a large suite. The super king-size bed can be split into twin singles if required. The gold Rocco bedside cabinets and coordinating crystal and gold lamps provide an air of decadence. The sunrises and sunsets can be majestic and observed from bed or one of the four window seats. The floor to ceiling bespoke wardrobes house drawers and vanity unit which have ample space for your personal belongings. For your convenience, wooden coat hangers, tissues, cotton wool, and hairdryer are provided. The Victoria & Albert pearl-shaped bath takes centre stage in the large tiled and mirrored bathroom. The cubicle shower has a dual head rainfall shower. The designer sink and vanity unit provides ample space for ablution and toiletries. An electric towel rail is available is cosy towels are required. The two further bedrooms side share a Jack and Jill shower room. The shower room has independent entry housing; a cubical shower, toilet, vanity, and electric towel rail. The king-size room, on the left, has a mahogany sleigh bed, coordinating bedside cabinets, and armoire with a leather bucket chair. The final room on the right-hand side has a small double bed with dual bedside tables and lamps. A large wall unit provides a wardrobe, drawers, and shelves for clothes and personal items. Two armchairs and a table present a relaxing area to read or catch up on emails. Outside There is ample outside space to relax, cook and explore with several large areas of the grassy garden for children to play. A historical water well remains an integral feature of the garden (safety cover insitu). French doors lead from the kitchen to the outside patio area with table and chairs for alfresco cooking and dining. Enjoy the country views while cooking award-winning local produce on the gas BBQ. On cooler evenings light the Chiminea and enjoy the night skies. An Indian sandstone pathway surrounds the house leading to patio seating and a clothes drying area. There is space for parking several vehicles on the driveway. After leaving the main road, access to the property road is via a farm drive, which can be bumpy, so please drive carefully. Guests can access all areas of the farmhouse except for; 1. The French Dresser in the lounge which is for display purposes only. All crockery, cutlery, and glasses for use are stored in the dining room unit and kitchen pantry cupboards. 2. One unit in the Master bedroom wardrobe as it is used to store spare bed linen. Apologies, guests will not have access to the Garage. There is, however, ample space for parking several vehicles on the driveway. Our wonderful co-hosts; Tricia and Alistair will either be there to welcome you or will come to say hello, by arrangement, on your first day. They are close at hand to answer any questions and are available to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We will be in contact with you before your arrival to organise check-in, answer any final questions and make any final arrangements before you arrive. The property is an ideal base for the Open Golf Championships and the Dunhill Championship. While St Andrews is undoubtedly the best-kept jewel in Fife's crown, there is so much more to Fife that will spoil urban travelers, explorers, cyclists, museum-goers, castle cravers, and foodies alike. From the cosmopolitan atmosphere of St Andrews to the quaint fishing villages of the East Neuk of Fife such as Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem, and Elie, the region is peppered with incredibly picturesque sea towns and villages, teeming with masses of great outdoor activities and amazing wildlife. This home is also a perfect base to explore; The Kingdom of Fife, Tayside, with its glorious castles, fishing, skiing, whiskey distilleries. Due to the location of the property driving is the most convenient mode of transportation, although public transport is available. Airports Dundee - 13 miles (20.8km) Edinburgh - 44miles (70.4km) Glasgow - 76miles (121.6) Aberdeen - 82 miles (131.2km) If you would like a bespoke Scottish tour or shopping trip, this can be arranged for an additional fee. Our aim is to provide our guests with the high standards and quality of a first-class hotel with the benefit of the tranquillity, seclusion, and comfort of a private country home. A warm welcome awaits your arrival with a welcome pack of; wine, tea, coffee and treats for your first evening. A' breakfast pack' will also be arranged for your first morning using, where possible, local produce. If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know. The closest village is a short walk/drive away (0.5 miles) along a farm road. There you can find a pub and convenience store. The nearest towns of Cupar and St.Andrews are a short drive or bus ride away and have all the amenities and facilities you require. If required, we can arrange for an online shop to be delivered for or on your arrival. For that extra special stay, a driver and catering can be arranged by separate negotiation. To make your stay as convenient and comfortable as possible we will supply; soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet roll, bin bags, dishwasher capsules, washing up liquid, washing powder, fabric conditioner, as well as cleaning products and equipment for the duration of your stay. Please note that the farmhouse has a septic tank and therefore no foreign material such as disposable wipes, nappies, sanitary napkins, or other hygienic products, should be flushed down the toilet. Bags will be supplied to dispose of items with household waste. In the event of a power outage; touches, battery-powered LED lanterns and head touches are available in the utility room. For safety; fire extinguishers and fire blanket and a first-aid kit are available and stored in the utility room. A hard-wired fire alarm system is central to the property. For the younger guest, we can supply a travel cot, high chair, and toys on request. All bedroom pillows are hypoallergenic, however, some of the designer cushions and duvets have goose feather insets. Please inform us if you have any allergies. Of note to golfers and historians. Records show that the property has a historic association with the famous and legendary golfer Tom Morris, whose wife was born in the farmhouse’s hamlet. The area has changed little since then with beautiful rural views and country walks.
