Create memories of a lifetime in one of the most beautiful coastal towns of Eastern Victoria - Lakes Entrance. Lakes Entrance is loved for its unspoilt swimming beaches, waterfront cafes and fleet of colourful fishing boats, many of which sell the day’s catch from the jetties. Located 319 kilometres from Melbourne on the edge of the infamous Ninety Mile Beach where the Gippsland Lakes meet the ocean, Lakes Entrance offers plenty of water-based activities. Close by, Lake Tyers Beach offers real tranquillity, a perfect spot to explore. Join a guided boat tour of the Gippsland Lakes, admire the coastal scenery from Kalimna Lookout, and stroll across the footbridge from the foreshore promenade to see the vast expanse of the Ninety Mile Beach or pick up paper-wrapped fresh fish and chips from a local seafood shop. Alternatively, cast a line off the beach or hire a paddleboat, cruiser or a catamaran and catch your own. Just a couple of minutes down the road you will find the Colquhoun State Forest which provides many fantastic tourist attractions such as car touring, bush walking, fishing, swimming and cycling. There are three different walking track options that are suitable for all fitness levels and will take you on a scenic journey through nature and Indigenous and European history. Picnic Sites are available at two different locations making it the ideal day-trip destination during your stay at Eight Acres Lakes Entrance. The Colquhoun Mountain Bike Park also has both a cross country track and pump track for mountain biking enthusiasts. The Stony Creek Trestle Bridge can be seen on the East Gippsland Rail Trail and you can also visit by road, turning off the main highway and following the 3km gravel road to the parking and picnic area. While you cannot walk on the 247m long, 20m high bridge, the views and walking trails below are worth the trip. Pet-friendly: at an additional $100 pet fee per pet per stay. Sorry no dogs in the Glamping tents.
