The perfect surfer destination in Cape Town, with everything you need for a comfortable and convenient base to call home whilst on holiday. Located inside Capricorn Beach - a gated estate that has 24 hour security. This is a 2-Bed, 2-Bath apartment with lock-up garage and balcony that has an ocean view. We think it is the perfect combination of peaceful getaway, but still close enough to attractions, shops and other conveniences. We set up the apartment with our needs in mind - we're a couple who love the ocean and surfing, but often need to work remotely. The main bedroom is ideal for a couple, and the 2nd room has a single bed and office setup. The apartment is walking distance to the beach, and less than 2km from the famous surfer's corner in Muizenberg, but is tucked away from the main crowds inside a secure estate. We love our neat, relaxing home that also has everything you need to keep up with work while traveling. Muizenberg is possibly the worlds best place to learn to surf (surfer's corner), so sign up for lessons with one of the many surf schools there, where you can also rent your choice of equipment. If you're a more advanced surfer, there are plenty of spots all around the cape peninsula - for all skill levels. Most are within 5-40 minutes' drive. Work: There's a dedicated workspace in the second bedroom with ergonomic chair, external screen, as well as good internet connectivity throughout the house. Other conveniences you might need - coffee percolator, washer/dryer, microwave, iron, etc. and a lock-up garage for 1 Vehicle. This secure village has multiple swimming pools and community events, and is not far from the rest of Cape Town's fun and action: wine-tasting, table mountain national park, amazing food & restaurants, and all-round some of the most glorious sights in the world! Muizenberg is a wonderful community, there's an indoor community market on Friday nights (at the Bluebird Garage) and a big outdoor one on Sundays. It's a truly multicultural community and there's always something brilliant to take part in - whether antiques and crafts shopping, trail-running, biking, checking out what's on at the local drama society (Masque Theatre) or simply staying indoors reading books. Private lock-up garage for 1 vehicle. Or easily take an Uber taxi. Cape Town International Airport is 30-40 minutes away. There is a bus stop just around the corner from the apartment and two train stations on the north/south line (between the CBD and the southern suburbs): Muizenberg station - 2km away & Falsebay station - 4km away. Winter can be a bit tricky with rain and cold, but in summer we walk around or jump on bicycles as the preferred way to hob-knob about the village buying fresh bread, etc. Winter & Spring (May-August) is the best time to surf in Muizenberg, as the storms bring the swell and the NW wind makes for perfect off-shore conditions. While it can get quite cold it is more temperate than Gauteng, for example, and as it is rain season for Cape Town, it is an exquisite time to explore the mountains and national parks. Nothing beats the smell of a fynbos garden just after a fresh rain. Don't worry, we've got an electric blanket, heater and a 2-in-1 washer/dryer so you can do your own washing and drying, regardless of the weather.
