Own entrance twin room with en-suite @ Old Jocks
We have 2 private bedrooms (double & twin) each having their own entrance & en-suite shower room. Each bedroom has Freesat tv, mini fridge, kettle & toaster. Plates, bowls, glasses, mugs & cutlery. We provide coffee, tea, sugar & dried milk & a few breakfast items normally porridge pots, buns & cereal bars. It’s a 3 min walk to Tarbet pier on Loch Lomond. I like to give guests space and privacy & it’s self check in but I am normally around or you can message me. We accept 1 dog at £10 per stay. A private self contained twin bedroom with 2 single beds and an en-suite shower room. You have your own entrance and a key safe so you can come and go as you please and self check in on arrival. There is a TV with Freesat, mini fridge, kettle and toaster. Plates, bowls, cutlery, mugs and glasses. We provide some breakfast items normally porridge pots, cereal bars & brioche buns or croissants. Parking is available on our drive at the front of the cottage. You have use of the shared back garden which has a stream that runs alongside the cottage and a picnic table (look out for the red squirrels that visit the feeder on the tree trunk). Please note the 2 single beds can not be moved together. Guests have access to their own en-suite room and a shared back garden. We are in a small village but there is Tarbet hotel and Slanj restaurant/bar and an extremely small shop. Arrochar/Tarbet train station is a 7/8 min walk away and a bus stop outside Tarbet hotel a 2/3 min walk away. We like to give guests their own space and privacy but we are normally available if you have any queries. Guests self check in and each room has it’s own entrance. Tarbet is a small hamlet but with good access links. The nearest place to eat out is The Slanj which is 5/10 minute walk from the cottage towards the railway station. They have an extremely small shop in the car park for essentials and from which they sell hot cobs. Arrochar has a small shop, couple of pubs, a chip shop and Cu Mara takeaway. The car park to start climbing The Cobbler is here too. Tarbet Pier is a 5 minute walk. Have a look at cruiselochlomond website for information on loch cruises and the passenger ferry that goes to various points on the Loch including to the West Highland Way or to climb Ben Lomond. At Bonnie and Ben you can grab an alfresco lunch. The picturesque conservation village of Luss is just off the A82 is 10 miles away heading towards Balloch. The Village shop sells great sandwiches, burgers and cake! Argyll forest has many wonderful walks including favourites Pucks Glen gorge walk or Glenbranter waterfall Rest and be thankful Road from Tarbet towards Loch Fyne and beyond is a particularly beautiful drive. Glencoe is about an hour drive away and beyond that Fort William with the famous Ben Nevis to climb. For the adventurous there is Wakeboarding, speedboat rides at Ardlui or if it’s raining Inveraray Jail or Castle. For supermarkets there’s an Aldi at Alexandria, CO OP in Balloch both a 20 min drive or Asda, Morrisons & a M&S food in Dumbarton 30 min drive. Tarbet and Arrochar railway station is 10 mins walk away. Glasgow airport is a 45/60 min drive away. A bus from Tarbet hotel 3 mins walk away goes to Glasgow, Oban and Campbeltown. A car is the easiest way to get around. Old Jocks cottage is in a small hamlet so please be courteous to our neighbours and other guests by keeping noise to a minimum. There is a stream alongside the cottage. Please have a look at our directions after booking as sat nav seems to be sending guests to a house on Ballyhennan crescent. Guests bringing a dog- We have a dog and we would appreciate out of courtesy for Mabel and other guests that you keep your dog on a lead when outside the room. Dogs are also not allowed on the furniture and are not to be left unattended. We charge a £10 fee per stay which will be added through Airbnb after booking. Please pick up after your dog. Smoking is not allowed in your room but there is a cigarette butt bin on the picnic table. Please note that the 2 single beds can not be pushed together.
