A True Gem of a Cottage in tranquil surroundings
Take a break and unwind at this peaceful stress-free location. Honeysuckle Cottage is a very cosy property with two double bedrooms, one single and a bathroom with shower. It is in excellent modern condition with a large airy kitchen and living room downstairs and a large reception hall. The pretty garden wraps around the cottage on three sides and two levels and runs down to a bubbling brook at its foot (the brook can not be easily accessed from the garden and should pose no danger to children) Honeysuckle Cottage is set in Hereford, 4.3 miles from Hereford Castle. Mordiford village grew up around an ancient ford over the River Lugg. The river is now crossed by the oldest surviving bridge in Herefordshire, dating in part to c. 1352 and completed in the 16th century. Mordiford is best known for the legend of the Dragon of Mordiford, which, some said, would amble down from its lair in Haugh Wood to drink from the confluence of the rivers Wye and Lugg near the village. The Moon Inn, four minutes on foot from Honeysuckle Cottage is our local and offers quality cooked food throughout the week as well as a superb Sunday lunch. Bar, lounge & restaurant area as well as a large beer garden. The area is ribboned with excellent walks both through forest and more open land, many of these walks start at the front door of Honeysuckle Cottage and accept mountain bikes as well. Hereford is a lovely old, unspoiled Cathedral City protected from the outside world by its lack of motorway access. However, it enjoys all of the amenities to be expected from true market town and has all the shops one would expect: Waitrose, Tesco, Morrisons, and Sainsburies for essential supplies and all the major shops for other requirements. Hereford enjoys a variety of restaurants, bistros, and snack bars as well as pubs. There are two parking places available.
