The Wing Swifts is a beautiful, light filled period cottage with an enclosed private garden, in the picturesque village of Milverton, near Taunton in Somerset. A spacious cottage with very well equipped kitchen/dining room (and cookery books) with cosy log burning fire, 3 deliciously comfortable bedrooms, 2 designated work areas and 5 minutes to the most incredible walks into breathtakingly beautiful countryside outside the door. The village has a very well stocked local shop for all your needs. This period writers cottage in beautiful Somerset is perfectly placed for a peaceful and restful retreat in the midst of some of Englands most breathtaking countryside. With a large well equipped kitchen and dining room (with Broadwood piano for playing and entertaining) the kitchen has all mod cons, appliances and supplies for all your cooking needs. The large lounge has a classic, cosy wood burner and luxuriously large velvet couch, along with a well stocked book case. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms (2 double and 1 with a single day bed that can convert to a double, with additional foldout bed available, if required) and 2 quiet workspaces. Bathroom comes with organic bathsalts and new rainwater shower. The large front garden has an outdoor table setting and chiminea and is a perfect spot to eat al fresco, or just listen to the birdsong. The most amazing walks into exquisite countryside, fields, long winding country lanes, rivers, streams and forests are five minutes from our door. House comes with picnic set, walking and guide books and some lovely history books about the area. Free parking at end of our drive, in nearby famous North Street. You will have the whole house and garden to yourself. I am available on the phone if you have any questions and we also have a friend manage the house who lives in the village. Milverton is a beautiful village, 20 mins drive from Taunton. There is a lovely traditional well run pub, a post office and really well run open all hours shop, well stocked with local produce and a good wine selection. There is also a beautiful church with stunning churchyard and local community hall, often holding events and concerts. Exmoor and the Quantock Hills are all a short drive away, as is some beautiful coast, including Lyme Regis (under an hours drive away) we often go for lunch. Nearby Wiveliscombe and Wellington have good supermarkets, markets, great local butchers, fishmongers, pubs and a range of eateries. The walks around here are some of the most beautiful in England and vastly enhanced by a pub lunch at the end (or start!) of it.
