One of three houses in a tiny hilltop hamlet this large detached farmhouse with 14 acres of gardens, meadows and woodland offers peace and tranquillity. It has been renovated and modernised in keeping with its origins and retains its traditional style with exposed beams, an open fireplace and a pigeonnier. Overlooking the pool (12 x 6m) are south facing terraces both open and covered for outdoor meals in all weathers and for relaxing in the sunshine. In addition there is a table-tennis table, a snooker table and boules. The nearby village of Durfort Lacapelette (3 km) has a bakery, a small supermarket and a tennis court. All other services can be found in Moissac (8km) which is famous for its Romanesque abbey Saint-Pierre and Cloister and is included in the World Heritage Site Routes of Santiago de Compostela. This charming market town is situated at the confluence of the Garonne and Tarn rivers. In the summer, there are boat trips and water skiing on the river Tarn and bikes can be hired for trips on the cycle route along the Canal des Deux Mers. There is horse riding at L'Escapade (just off the road into Moissac), at Lauzerte (12km) which is classified as one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France, so well worth a visit, and at St Nicolas-de-la-Grave (20km), which also has a large swimming lake/leisure park and windsurfing. There is a children's water park (Walibi) near Agen (about 50km). This is the 'land of the bastides' - the medieval villages which are an outstanding feature of south-west France. Lauzerte, Auvillar(28km) and Beaumont-de-Lomagne(40km) are all within easy reach. For a more urban experience not far away are the rosy pink cities of Montauban (30km) and Toulouse (80km). Cahors (50km) with its famous Pont Valentré is at the centre of the wine making region of the same name and there are opportunities to sample what it has to offer. Also in the area there is no shortage of restaurants serving the local specialities.
