The Belfry is a light and spacious top floor apartment within a granite chapel in Moretonhampstead, the gateway to Dartmoor. The Chapel was established in the 1860's and was a happy place of worship. We have created a luxurious self contained 2 bedroom flat, with a huge, light and spacious living space, with fantastic country views. The newly appointed bathroom, is sleek and roomy and there is a fully functioning bright kitchen. Come and experience some Dartmoor luxury. A Luxurious Apartment in the heart of Moretonhampstead, with a separate entrance and a parking space right outside! The Belfry is bright and recently renovated to a very high standard. There is everything you will need to make your stay comfortable and memorable. A king bed, Joules bedding, Laura Ashley furniture, luxurious towels and toiletries are provided throughout your stay. We also include a TV, free wifi, tea, ground coffee, sugar, milk and most importantly some local gin and tonic, for you to try. There is central heating and a separate heated towel rail and a dishwasher, to make life in the kitchen a little easier. We have endeavoured to think of everything and have included local information, sights, artisan makers, maps, books to read and games to play. As we live on site, we would appreciate that guests minimise the noise after midnight. We are available either through direct contact, as we live on site or via a mobile phone. Moretonhampstead is known as the gateway to the moor, It has a wonderful community and hosts many activities, including live music, theatre, arts and crafts. We have an outdoor heated swimming pool, open throughout the summer. a sports centre, tennis courts, a cycle route, tourist information centre with details of many walks. We also boast two pubs, a hotel with a bar and an authentic Italian restaurant where you can take your own alcohol. There are three excellent cafes, an award winning butcher and delicatessen, a green grocers and the local co-op. We also have a hairdressers, a zero waste shop, a pharmacy, two beauty salons, a newsagents and Art centre, local potters, felt maker, willow artist and gin distillery, all within a 2 minute walking distance of the Belfry. Nearest stations are Exeter or Newton Abbot. Accessible location by car. Regular buses run to neighbouring towns. As we live on site, in fact below the Apartment, we would appreciate if guests could minimise noise after midnight. We want everybody to have a wonderful stay in our home but also we would hope that our guests respect our home.
