COTTAGE Room - Tirthan Great Him. Nat. Park Kullu
Nestled in the Eco zone of Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Whitestone Cottages are located on the banks of Tirthan River in village Shairupa. The National Park has an area of more than 1100 Sq kms. Surrounded by snow peaked mountains, the western side of the Park is home to villages that are economically dependent on the Park for their livelihood. GHNP is home to many rare species of flora and fauna, some of them are endangered species. We encourage Eco-tourism in an environmentally responsible manner. One can see a combination of natural beauty of the Himalayas, rich welcoming Himachali culture and the diversity of flora & fauna that GHNP offers. Visiting in March-October provides a badly needed respite from the Indian summer. Getting away from the heat and hustle of the big city, to spend some time in nature's lap, is in itself therapeutic and uplifting! December is a great month to enjoy the winter holiday season. Sometimes we get lucky with a white Christmas - the whole valley turns into a winter wonderland. January-February are the two months to visit if you love snow and want guaranteed sub-zero temperatures (not my cup of tea :-)) Activities in the area include bird watching, meditation, hiking, trekking, camping, white water rafting, para gliding, fly fishing or just chilling out by the Tirthan river side. We provide boutique lodging and simple food, made with locally sourced fresh ingredients, cooked to your taste. Our team members are polite, respectful and mostly from nearby villages. We are not your typical luxury hotel and lack many amenities that city provides. The Tirthan Valley visitor prefers the quiet, the quaint and the simple joys of exploration, over comfort and amenities of city. So the valley makes it up for us that way. The team gives its best though, to make your stay as comfortable as possible within the local resource constraints. The Cabins and Rooms are adequately furnished and kept clean. Each room is independent with a private entrance and attached washroom. The Cabins have a small patio backing on to the river, while the Rooms have a front balcony view. WIFI is available, if you so want it badly :-) Club house/common dining area, steam/sauna, reading room/fireplace I am mostly on site. When not in Tirthan valley, you can always reach me by phone or by sending a message. Also, Wikie Singh our team leader is always on site and he can help you with anything you need. Kullu, Manali, Great Himalayan National Park, Tirthan River, Jalori Pass, Manikaran Sahib Most travelers to Tirthan Valley have their own transportation. For those who don't we can arrange a pre-paid pick up from Bhuntar airport in Kullu as well as from New Delhi and Chandigarh. To get around locally we can help arrange a jeep/car on competitive rates. Please note, the prices are per cabin/cottage room per night. Read room details to select one that best fits your needs - some have sofa beds in addition to a queen bed, and some have one queen bed only. When enquiring mention the room you prefer, or let us know the size of your party so I can make suggestions.
