Hidden away, nestled on the edge of woodland, Brada Cottage is a charming, quiet retreat. The cottage has been fully restored with thought, care and attention to detail. The log burner in the living room ensures a cosy welcome, regardless of the season, and the separate dining room adds to the comfort, as does the farmhouse style, galley kitchen. Adjacent to farm fields, some with cattle and sheep, this charming cottage is ideal for families, couples or individual guests. Ground Floor: Living room: With log burner, limestone floor, sofa, chairs and Freeview TV. Dining room: With dining table, seating for five, limestone floor. Kitchen: With electric oven and hob, microwave, small fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. Kitchen work top space, with two wooden stools to provide seating at the breakfast bar. Limestone floor. First Floor: Bedroom 1: With kingsize bed, small wardrobe, view of the private garden and surrounding countryside. Bedroom 2: With two single beds, small wardrobe, view over the shared 'square'. Bedroom 3: With one single bed, small wardrobe, view of the shared 'square'. Bathroom: With large, walk in shower with glass panel, single sink, toilet. Outside space: Lovely, private cottage garden consisting of flowers, lawn and stone patio. Outdoor dining table with seating for six. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. No smoking. No pets. Guests have full access to Brada Cottage and it's private garden and patio. Parking is available on site. Nearby, the pretty village of Belford is just over a mile away, where a warm welcome regularly greets visitors. The former Georgian stagecoaching village offers many facilities including shops, a tea room, pubs and a golf driving range. The picture-postcard coastal village of Bamburgh, dominated by its majestic fortress and golden sandy beach, is a mere 6 miles east. For those who would enjoy a boat trip, Seahouses, 9 miles east, offers regular (weather permitting!) voyages to the Farne Islands, where you can see the local seals and marine birds. Follow the current tide times to cross the causeway to the magical Holy Island and Priory of Lindisfarne, which can be explored just 6 miles north. The small and friendly market town of Wooler sits at the foot of the Cheviot Hills, 12 miles west, which is a popular destination for cycling, hang-gliding, golf, horse riding and walking. A scenic 20 mile drive south along the coast takes you to Howick, ideal for coasteering and adventure watersports. Although Brada Cottage is quietly situated, the A1 is less than a mile away, giving easy access to the elegant Georgian town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which straddles the salmon rich River Tweed to the north, and the historic market town of Alnwick, with its dramatic castle to the south. Both offer a wide array of amenities and are equidistant at 15 miles. Alnwick Garden is very popular and makes a great day out. See the Grand Cascade waterfall and then enjoy a meal in the restaurant within the largest treehouse in Europe. The vibrant cities of Newcastle upon Tyne and Edinburgh are an hours’ drive away, or take the train from Berwick or Alnmouth. Brada Cottage offers delightful accommodation in an excellent location. It makes a great base from which to explore the Northumbrian countryside to the west, along with the Heritage Coast, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to the east. The Scottish Borders are within close reach to the north. Enjoy your stay at Brada Cottage!
