A family run pub with an open fire, great beer & live music. Situated at the foot of Twmbarlwm Mountain in beautiful surroundings 12 minutes from the M4. Our BUNK:HOUSE is an exciting place to stay whilst exploring nearby cities, towns and cute welsh villages! Only a 30 minute drive to the Welsh Capital Cardiff, 20 minutes to Newport City. Our Bunkhouse is purpose built for groups of bikers and walkers visiting the Cwmcarn downhill tracks and miles of forest walks. The ease, security and simplicity of the accommodation makes a weekend away from the rat race hassle free! We have the most mind blowingly beautiful surroundings, a lovely sun trap of a beer garden plus a well stocked bar with fabulous prices offers great draft beer, gin bar and we're open 4 days a week. Exactly what you need to wind down after a day in the great outdoors! The rooms area custom built as small cabin rooms with 1 Triple bunk (three beds- standard single bed size). So each triple cabin sleeps x3 people. There are lockers which with a £5 key deposit are for guest use only. We keep the service and accommodation basic and rustic so no worries about walking in with wet boots or muddy gear! You'll have to bring your own shower gells/ soaps/ toothpaste or any other personal washing products. We do provide (unusual for most bunkhouses) plenty of pillows, duvex and extra blankets. You will find complimentary tea and coffee and a comfortable stay which is great value for money. The bunkhouse is at the centre of The Fork and Tune property, opening up onto the Restaurant Garden you are in the heart of the local Pub, with most weekends live entertainment indoors and outdoors, music and lots of atmosphere. Thur - Sunday we are open to the public and our very popular restaurant is the best place in the village to eat fresh so don't forget to reserve a table on booking your accommodation. Cwmcarn village is an extremely friendly place, facilities are limited with a local post office, a onestop, local school, barber but perfectly situated only a stones throw from some of the Wales best tracks at Cwmcarn Forest Drive. As many pubs have we have had to turn our car park in an outdoor dining area. But roadside parking is available, we are more than happy for bikes to be brought in and stored on site whether its in the bunkhouse, basement or garage. We are perfectly central to a number of great MTB tracks, 45mins from Bike Park Wales, an hours drive from the black mountains and forest of dean and half a mile tops from Cwmcarn forest Drive. You will be within crawling distance to the bar which has an open log fire which most guests absolutely LOVE! Free wifi Shared bathroom Tea & coffee facilities space to work on your bikes. You're free to come and go as you please, we are available during pub opening hours, to meet you on arrival and departure. Bar staff are available to help if you need assistance, directions, a refreshing beverage or a friendly chat! All entrances are pincoded which gives you the freedom to come and go as early or late as you please. Just be considerate of other guests! Cwmcarn village has all the basic amenities within walking distance; one stop, cafe, post office, butchers, Indian takeaway & Chinese take away. We have bus routes goings to most towns just up the road. No. 151 The local train station Cross Keys is a 15 minute walk away and trains run every hour straight to Cardiff. NB: Taxis to Cardiff should be booked ahead of time. You can ride your bike straight to the Cwmcarn Forest Drive trails! We are a LIVELY and FRIENDLY pub and very much involved in our community. Cwmcarn Forest Drive is renound for down hill mountain biking and treking which is less than 1 mile from us! We are about 45 minutes drive from Bike Park Wales, Merthyr and approximately an hour from The Forest of Dean.
