East Lynne Cabin: self-contained Home from Home
This is a newly furbished and fully self-contained cabin with a double bed, shower room, kitchenette, living space and balcony. A newly added side bedroom offers 2 extra single beds (only available for access when more than 2 guests are booked). On the Somerset, Devon, and Dorset borders, our cabin is perfectly situated for both business and leisure visitors. Nearby: South West Rail Crewkerne. M5 (45 mins). A303 (10 mins). The Coast (30 mins). Yeovil (20 mins). Walk to town in 5 mins. Our cabin is accessed via a flat tarmac footway and though adjacent stands independently from our family home in its own setting with its own views across the town and far reaching country landscape. Someone will always be on hand but you will have privacy and peace to ensure you enjoy your stay. To add to your comfort, the cabin has a TV and reclining leather sofa in addition to a 4.6ft double bed. We have installed a new shower room with hand basin and WC and provide a small selection of bathroom supplies should you forget your own. Towels are provided. We have recently built a new, extra bedroom on the side of the cabin, allowing a maximum of 4 guests to stay. This extra bedroom is only accessible when more than 2 guests are booked in. The kitchenette is well equipped including the usual paraphernalia required to knock up a quick lunch or supper if you want to just snuggle in of an evening. Your Breakfast hamper will consist of a selection with something for everyone for the first couple of mornings of your stay: Cereal, bread and butter are provided along with the usual milk, sugar, tea and coffee - nothing fancy but just the job. Sit out on your own balcony with a glass of wine or cup of tea overlooking the field and you might catch a glimpse of the family of deer who frequently visit. Don't want to cook? There are a good selection of places to eat from fish and chips, cafes, great pubs and high end restaurants both in and around Crewkerne. Why not? You're are on holiday don't forget! You are also free to use the field. Are there more of you? Do you want to pitch a tent? £5 each pitch per night payable on arrival (water is available but no wash/wc facilities) Our home and three acres of land are shared with our German Shepherd, Sheba. She is great company and loves a ball game! Main house grounds entrance is via a keypad - details will be given on arrival. The cabin has it's own keys . Access is level with two entrances, one being double doors with a low door lip. The entire cabin and it's balcony will be all yours! We like good communication! A text or telephone call is the quickest way to keep in touch and to ask any questions you may have, we also monitor our emails frequently. We are always on hand to help and never far away. We aim to meet and greet all of our guests without being over intrusive. There is an abundance of walking and cycling routes straight from the doorstep but we don't have any designated cycle paths around here, just main roads for 2 miles and challenging hills in either direction to the quieter country lanes. The River Parrett and the Somerset Levels are wonderful nearby places to explore. The Jurassic coastline is also just 13 miles (West bay known as Broadchurch as seen on TV!) away whilst the Doone Valley in Exmoor is in the opposite direction and will take you no more than an hour by car. Crewkerne train station is a short journey on the South side of town and just a 20 minute walk. There is public transport from Crewkerne town center which will take you to either Chard or Yeovil and the surrounding villages. There are two good taxi firms in town. You can pick up the M5 within 45 minutes or the A303 within 10 minutes. We are situated at the end of a quiet but narrow lane. Parking is limited however our house has designated parking availability, both on and off road so this will not be a problem for you. We are able to add a small z-bed for an extra child if required. This will obviously reduce the free space in the living area of the cabin but it will be just as comfortable. Please let us know in advance if you require this facility (£10 additional charge per night to be paid on arrival). Also, if we are available we would be more than willing to provide a drop off service to any venue within a 3 mile radius or collect you from Crewkerne train station, just call ahead to check / arrange. Tit Bit: This market town is steeped in history and famous for it's antiques as seen on TV! Really worth a stroll around. Keep an eye out for the monthly Farmer's Market which is also worth a visit. Though we don't expect this to impact on your stay, the cabin is adjacent our family home and therefore you might see us coming and going especially on week days when we set off for work by 8am. It is only fair to let you know that we also run our family plumbing business from home but we aim not to disturb you during your stay and any vehicle movement instrusion will be limited. We aim to achieve the highest level of consideration with the best outcome being that you wont even know we are about unless you need us!
