Modern and cosy apartment that can accommodate up to 6 people, located in a renovated Art Nouveau building located in the center of Palmanova. The accommodation consists of 2 bedrooms, living room with kitchenette, 2 bathrooms and terrace with outdoor dining area, and is also equipped with the main comforts such as: Jacuzzi, Netflix, air conditioning and wifi, features that make it the ideal starting point to discover the wonderful "città stellata". The 100 sqm apartment is located on the third floor of a building with a lift. The space is organized as follows: - KITCHEN CORNER with induction hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, moka, toaster, kitchen utensils; - LIVING ROOM: with dining area, double sofa bed, split AC and TV with Netflix, TIM VISION CALCIO with DAZN and INFINITY+; - BEDROOM with double bed and 2 wardrobes; - BEDROOM 2 with two single beds and desk; - BATHROOM with toilet, bidet and Jacuzzi; - BATHROOM 2 with toilet, bidet, shower box; - TERRACE with table and chairs. Additional services available to guests: free wifi, independent heating, washing machine, mosquito nets, drying rack, iron and ironing board, hairdryer. Towels and linen are included (with additional linen optional for a fee). ATTENTION: The jacuzzi is temporarily out of use. The entire house is for the exclusive use of guests during the stay. The accommodation is only 3 minutes walk from the "Caffetteria Torinese", twice winner of the "Best Bar of Italy-Gambero Rosso" award in 2011 and 2014. Palmanova is known as a "star city", due to its polygonal 9-pointed star, or "fortress city", due to the many fortifications located within its borders. Since 1960 the historic city has been a national monument, while from 9 July 2017 the fortress of Palmanova became part of the Unesco world heritage site. The city of Palmanova can be considered an open-air museum: the entire city is in fact evidence of the military importance it had in the past. Among the monuments that can be visited we mention: - The entrance gates to the city (Porta Udine, Porta Aquileia or Marittima, Porta Cividale), the only buildings visible from the outside of the Fortress and still partially retaining their original architectural features. - The circles of walls - Piazza Grande, the main urban space of Palmanova, with a perfectly hexagonal shape, overlooked by the most important buildings of the city; - The Cathedral, built in 1600; - The Civic and Historical Museum of the city: an important point for information not only on the fortress city, but also for events and possible itineraries in the surroundings and in the region; - The Military History Museum, which houses collections of documentation on the fortifications, weapons and uniforms of the various armies and garrisons that followed one another over time in the fortress. Under the city of Palmanova there is a dense network of tunnels over 4 kilometers long that allowed the army to pass between one fortification and another. Main distances: - Porta Udine: 8 minutes on foot from the accommodation; - Porta Cividale: 9 minutes on foot; - Porta Aquileia: 5 minutes on foot; - Dogal Cathedral - Parish of the Most Holy Redeemer: 4 minutes on foot; - Piazza Grande: 3 minutes on foot; - The Civic and Historical Museum: 4 minutes on foot; - The Military History Museum: 7 minutes on foot. - Bar Pasticceria Sorarù: 3 minutes on foot; - D'Ambrosio Pharmacy: 1 minute on foot; - Viaglut - Il Punto Sigma (supermarket): 2 minutes on foot. - From Venice Airport, the most convenient way to reach the apartment is by taxi / car (100 km - about 1 hour). - From Friuli Venezia Giulia - Ronchi Airport, it is possible to reach the apartment by taking the regional train from Trieste Airport station (just over 10 minutes on foot from the airport) to Palmanova station, from which it is possible to continue on foot or by bus to the apartment. - From Udine Station, it is possible to reach the apartment by train thanks to the REG 1891 Ljubljana line, with the Palmanova stop. - From the Palmanova station it is possible to reach the apartment in 16 minutes on foot or in 10 minutes with the bus line 401 PALMANOVA via Rota (Polveriera), stopping at "PALMANOVA via Rota (Polveriera)", a 4-minute walk from the accommodation. - If you are traveling by car, to get to Palmanova you can take the E70 from Venice or Trieste. You can park your car for free on the street in the white stripes (with a 90-minute parking disc) or in the free parking in the side streets (both NOT guaranteed). You can leave your bikes (for a maximum of 4) in the internal courtyard. IDs of all residents must be shown upon check-in as required by Italian law.
