Charming cottage, perfect for a couple.
This cottage has a king size bed for a couple with a small area which has a bunk bed for little ones. It is only suitable for a couple who share the bed. No2 is a gorgeous mixture of exposed stone, original beams and modern open plan living with large windows giving maximum light. Gorgeous No 2 PalmTree Cottages was one of the original barns on our little estate built between 1875 and 1900. It was used as a working building until Mark converted it in 2016. Inside you have open plan living with kitchen, dining and sitting areas divided up nicely by the spiral staircase. Most mod cons are available in the kitchen with gas cooker, microwave, large fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble drier. This leads to a dining area and a lounge area with UK or French TV. Off the salon is the ground floor shower room with loo and utility area. The cottage also has great WiFi throughout. Many of the walls have been left exposed giving lots of charentaise character. A large mezzanine floor bedroom, with a very comfortable king-size bed and Tempur mattress, is accessed by the generous spiral staircase. A large window gives commanding views over the garden and countryside beyond as you lie in bed. On this floor there is also a small bunk room behind a curtain which is just big enough to house a bunk-bed, shelving unit and hangers, but not much else. In winter this is perfect for a couple who will share the bed but not a family or colleagues. In warmer weather families are welcome as you’ll be outside a lot. Outside you have a breakfast terrace and private garden with shady eating spot and views. The path beside a pergola with wisteria and roses leads to the off-road car park. This in turn leads to the one hundred meter long shared garden. You have your own enclosed private garden with access to the car-park and the street. Next to the car-park is the main lawn & play area, which you may share with the cottage next door. We live just next door. Peaceful and relaxing . Everyone gets a great nights sleep ready for the adventures outdoors either in the gardens, which are the size of a football field, or in the huge pool area. In the gardens you'll find an orchard, a picnic table under the walnut tree and a large play area with basketball, boules, table tennis and safe archery. The pool itself is one of the largest in the area at 12 meters by 6 and it is surrounded by large terraces and lawns. It is 1.2 meters deep throughout so there is no deep end to worry about but the depth is plenty for everyone. There's also a BBQ area within the security fencing giving plenty of outside eating and relaxing options. We're privileged to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the area including vines and sunflowers aplenty. You will need a car here. There are lovely walks all around but the shops are a five minute drive. Everything else is 20-30 minutes away. There is a mezzanine bedroom with country views and a spiral staircase.
