Charles' Cottage is ideally located on a quiet cul-de-sac in the centre of Brecon. Within a 5 minute walk you'll find shops, restaurants, the cinema and theatre. The cottage is a fabulous base for exploring the surrounding countryside which is a mere 5 minute drive away. There is an attractive garden where you can have a BBQ and a glass of bubbly on a summer’s eve. There are 2 bedrooms in Charles' Cottage. Please note, the single bedroom and bathroom are both accessed through the double bedroom. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to make a delicious meal. The beds are fully made with good quality linen and there are towels for all guests to use. I leave basic essentials like 1 x toilet roll, kitchen roll and cleaning supplies. I also leave a small welcome tray with tea, coffee and Welsh chocolate. The cosy living room has a smart TV, with access to catch up TV, freeview channels and Netflix (your own account is needed). It also has an inbuilt DVD player. There is a good Wifi connection throughout the cottage. There is a shed in the garden which guests can access to store bikes. Please warn me in advance so I can leave you the key. Please note that on-street parking is available but cannot always be guaranteed. All areas of the house, including the garden are exclusively for guest's use and are not shared with anyone else. The back garden is wonderfully private and is a real sun trap! Guests can let themselves into Charles' Cottage when they arrive as I leave the key in the key safe. I live locally and can easily be contacted by phone or I can pop down if you need any help or advice. The neighbourhood around Charles Street is very family-oriented. Charles is a quiet street as it is a no-through road and the neighbours are all very friendly. It is very easy to get around Brecon town as it is so compact. From Charles' Cottage it is a 5 minute walk to the town centre. Public transport around Brecon is not great so having a car to get around is a real bonus. If you don't have a car then don't panic as there is a bike hire shop in town and the local taxi services are very good. **Please note that we charge an extra £20 for pets. This is payable by bank transfer, cash or cheque prior to your arrival.** Please note that as this is a period property there is a fairly steep wooden spiral staircase up to the first floor. There is a handrail provided. If you have infants then please do bring your own stair gate with you. Sadly not many 1860s cottages are wheelchair friendly and, regrettably, Charles is no exception. The other important thing to note is that Charles Street is a narrow Victorian street so please do park considerately, whilst bearing in mind that emergency vehicles must be able to make their way down the street 24 hrs a day.
