Spacious double room at the foot of the Mendips

A spacious private double bedroom and lounge/diner located in a villiage at the foot of the picturesque Mendip hills. The perfect base for hiking or cycling along "The Strawberry line" and day trips to destinations such as Bath, Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Glastonbury, Weston-Super-Mare or Bristol. There's quick and easy transport to Bristol Airport via the Falcon bus or just a short 15 min drive. We also have cheap airport parking spaces available at a rate of (£3.00 p/d). In addition to your bedroom there is a private lounge/diner with TV, games, books a toaster and kettle available for your use. Guests have the use of a large bathroom which has a bath and a shower, but please note that this is also shared with the hosts. There is a small front garden with a beautiful willow, and cherry blossom. We're a friendly, accomodating family who are happy to give suggestions on the best places to visit in the area. We do lots of walking in the Mendips so if you need a hand planning any rambling activities we may be able to give you pointers or ideas for the best walking routes. We're usually available on our phones, however while we're at work there may be a short delay before a reply. The house is situated in the quiet villiage of Winscombe and is only a few minutes walk to the local facilities. There are two small local supermarkets where you can buy snacks and a great selection of take aways: Fish and Chips/Chinese/Indian/Pizza. There's even two nice cafés in the village where you can get a hearty breakfast. The local pub called "The Woodborough" serves excellent food and some great local ales including "Thatchers Cider"and "Butcombe Ale". The Thatchers Cider brewery and pub are approx. 1 and a half mile from us and well worth a visit as the food, drink and surroundings are excellent! Driving is the best way to get around however there are bus services that run from Winscombe to surrounding points of interest. Bus Services 126- Wells/Weston-Super-Mare *Stops in Cheddar 1/hour Falcon- Plymouth/Bristol *Best way to get to Bristol (45 min Journey) and the airport. 1/hour The strawberry line is a great cycle path between Cheddar and Yatton that is mostly flat the entire way. From Yatton you can catch regular trains into Bristol or Bath. Airport Parking £3/day
