The Coach House - 2 Bedroom (sleeps 6)

Located in the quiet, family-friendly suburb of Penarth, The Coach House is situated in a private courtyard area at the bottom of our garden, with a lovely nautical theme throughout. Close enough to central Cardiff for all the convenience, but far enough that you can relax away from the hustle & bustle of city life. This relaxing space is perfect for families and friends who want to get together and socialize inside, or get out and about! No Stag/hen dos sorry. Everything you need! Offering all the conveniences you would normally require away from home, with a fully furnished kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave, washing machine and more. A luxurious Victorian style bathroom with bath & shower decorates the upstairs area between the two bedrooms. There is an extra WC downstairs for anyone sleeping in the lounge, and from a technology perspective, there is superfast Wi-Fi & Virgin TV (XL) with all the channels, ready for streaming Netflix, Amazon TV or other services. The large 43 inch Sony HDTV is perfect for watching movies or sports if the weather isn't great outside, and the place has full electronic keypad access for easy lock-up and go when you're ready to go out on the town! In terms of sleeping, there is enough space to accommodate 6 people, although we recommend up to 4 adults only due to space considerations in the lounge/kitchen and of course the shared bathroom, otherwise, it might be a bit cozy. If you have a large group and you're all very close and don't mind being cozy, then rest assured there are enough beds for you all. We have a super king set up in each bedroom, both of which can be converted into singles instead. One of them is a deep medium-firm pocket-sprung mattress and the other is a medium normal depth mattress. Downstairs we have another super king in the form of a sofa pull-out with fully pocket-sprung mattresses replacing the foam originals to allow for a comfortable night's sleep, even for those staying downstairs. Two of the further single beds upstairs (1 in each room) are low futon style beds with pocket-sprung mattresses. We find these are perfect for kids who need to be in the same room as their parents and are low enough that small children are at no risk of falling out and hurting themselves. We can even move two of these low beds in with the parents sleeping in the super king in the same room if required. Other than the beds, each bedroom also has a tall standing mirror, clothes hanging rail, chest of drawers and a bed-side table with a reading lamp and the main room also has a hair-dryer. We also have plenty of options for parents with little ones including a travel cot and high chair, changing mats and duplo - just let us know! There are a lot of possible configurations here, so be sure to talk to us about your preferred sleeping arrangements and we'll get them set up for you! The living room has two sofas in addition to the sofa bed, so plenty of seating in there, but the kitchen can seat 4 comfortably, and 6 at most, around the small breakfast table. The lounge coffee table is perfect for gathering around for a game of Monopoly or Pictionary! In the downstairs WC, we also keep a clothes hanging dryer and ironing board. Let us know beforehand if you want us to set it up ready for your arrival. We provide most of the things you would expect and need for your stay, including linen, towels, hand and shower cream soaps. In case you don't get a chance to pick up provisions, for your arrival, we provide the basics you'll need for breakfast including brown bread, butter, jam and a selection of cereals. Milk for cereal and cups of tea or coffee. If you need something in a pinch, there are several convenience shops nearby including a SPAR 50m walk from the house. There are also numerous restaurants, cafes and pubs on the high street within easy walking distance. There is free parking available on the street outside. Access is either through the side gate and down the garden path to The Coach House courtyard or through the lane at the back of the house. Access to the coach house is via an electronic keypad on the front door and we can set a familiar passcode for the duration of your stay. You will need to enter your four-digit passcode followed by the star key (*) each time you enter the front door of the coach house and turn the latch once the code has been accepted. Penarth is a charming peaceful Victorian seaside town situated a few miles from the centre of Cardiff. There is a delightful array of small shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and it is also as one of the Guardians top 10 places to live in the UK. A short walk through Alexander park will take you to the sea front esplanade along the pebble beach which also boasts a recently restored pier which is home to a small cinema, tea rooms and art exhibition alongside traditional ice cream vendors. The house is 3 miles from Cardiff, very close to Penarth Centre, seafront and the two Penarth train stations (Penarth and Dingle Road train stations- both only a 5 minute walk away). The nearest bus stop is 50m from the house with regular buses to Cardiff and Barry. For Rugby internationals/Concerts at the Principality stadium the train is a 12 minute journey from Penarth to Cardiff Central Train station which is opposite the Principality stadium. Alternatively it will take you approximately 10 minutes to drive to the stadium and 8 minutes to Cardiff Bay. For travel to Cardiff Bay, take the train to Cardiff Queen Street station, approximately a 15 minute journey from where you can catch a 5 minute train up to Cardiff Bay.
