Magnificent view of the Pyrenees from the garden and the 1rst floor. Private flower-filled garden. Located in the picturesque village of Pech Luna (Moon Hill). Near Carcassonne and the mains touristic places of the "Pays cathare". RENOVATED IN 2018-2019. Come discover the breathtaking beauty of the Languedoc (Southwest France). The house (dates from 1833): Perfect for 2 persons who LOVE CATS! Princess Tattoo will be your lovely companion. The front door opens into a large ground floor living room (which remains comfortably cool in the summer). It has a dining table (which seats four), TV and a piano. The corridor off the living room that leads to the kitchen and bathroom also opens onto the back garden. The kitchen (with a window on the garden and exposed beams in the ceiling) is fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. You’ll find everything you need to prepare delicious meals—dishes, glasses, pots and pans. The kitchen opens onto a small well lit sitting room (also with a window on the garden) furnished with a small table perfect for writing or for dinners or lunches for two. (This room contains also a mezzanine bed). The small bathroom with a shower (no bathtub) is equipped with a washing machine (drying line in the garden). The toilet is in a small separate room. Towels and bedding are provided. On the second floor you will discover another exceptionally large living room (pictured in the attached photos) with a fireplace, couch, and well stocked bookshelves—filled with books mostly in French and Italian, but some (Emily Dickenson, Audre Lorde) are in English! This room also has one more desk—another perfect space to write. The master bedroom has stunning views of the Pyrenees from the window. At the foot of the bed there is another large desk for writing and also many bookshelves. The bedroom is equipped with a TV and DVD player, as well as a stereo. The mattress is brand new. Wifi is provided throughout the house. In the garden: An adjoining artist’s atelier contains everything that is needed to enjoy the flower-filled garden, including benches, tables, chaise lounges and parasols. There are two small patio areas for lunches under the wisteria, snacks in the shade of the fig tree, or candlelight diners. During spring, summer, and autumn the flowers appreciate being watered when they are thirsty. All around in the village you will enjoy magnificent views of the mountains and hills of this country called "Lauragais". You can make yourself at home because you will feel at home... Available from May-June to October (more by request) I am always available by phone and email. A caretaker who lives in the village is available in case of emergency. Located in a little village of 100 people at an altitude of 350 meters -- Pech Luna which means ‘Moon Hill’ in Occitan. Excellent view of the hills and mountains (the Pyrenees). One hour and thirty minutes from Toulouse airport and one hour from Carcassonne. One hour and thirty minutes from the beaches of the Med, the Pyrenees or Corbieres area with the ‘Cathare Castles’. Ten minutes from shops (8 km) by car or 20 minutes from picturesque markets. You will need a car to explore the region.
