Tang @Ting Tang Camping Eco Glamping Cornwall
Ting Tang Camping, Sunrise Farm. We are a small family run off-grid eco camping facility based at 7 acre Sunrise Farm, with amazing views towards Falmouth and backing onto nearly 40 acres of land on Carn Marth, an open space for all to enjoy, with wild swimming in the quarry. Check out the Guardian article on top 6 walks & wild swimming places in Cornwall. (Website hidden by Airbnb) We have 3 other tents on Airbnb. We’re based in a 7acre farm with stunning views. At the top of the hill you can see both coasts and as far as Bodmin Moor. Porthtowan on the north coast is just 10 mins drive and Falmouth is 15mins drive. Sunrise Farm is a peaceful place. The farmhouse and campsite is off-grid – powered only by the sun and the wind – and it’s really important to us to make sure we don’t have a negative impact on our environment. There are four 5m lotus belle tents available, each with plenty of privacy and space around them. This booking is for Tang, which is fully-furnished with one double bed (real bed, real mattress) and a single bed with a pullout second single bed, a comfy chair and storage. For an extra bed we can provide a blow-up mattress. If you can't book Tang, try booking Ting, Bell Vean or Bell Vue. All are fully furnished 5m lotus belle tents, although Bell Vean has a king size bed and a bow top caravan as its private kitchen and shower. All tents have electricity and a drinking water tap with a lovely shelter and great cooking facilities (a gas hob and grill), work surfaces as well as pots and pans, crockery, cool box and a Bbq. All electricity and hot water is from the farmhouse, and is generated from the sun and the wind. There are sockets for lights and phone charging, but due to the off-grid site we can't have more power-greedy items like a hairdryer. You have your own bbq and fire pit. Fire wood and locally-sourced charcoal can be bought from us. In The Washouse is an undercover washing up sink and two solar showers as well as a large butler sink for washing wetsuits etc. There are two compost toilets, with a hand washing sink, for three tents. We will also allow extra small tents for other family members – £10/tent/night and £10/person/night (free kids under 12). Speak to us more about this. Due to Covid-19 bedding is not included, so please bring your own bedding, pillows and towels. You will be able to drive into the field to drop off your luggage. Let us know your arrival time and we can guide you. You can text for firewood, charcoal or to report any issues, and we'll get on it as soon as we can. There's usually someone around during the day, but early evenings are best to get in touch. We are located in the middle of West Cornwall, close to both coasts as well as the towns of Falmouth, Truro, Redruth, Perranporth and Newquay. We are surrounded by disused tin mines, in the heart the world's richest square mile back when the mines were running. You can see mines all over here, and learn more about the rich mining history by visiting Poldark Mine, King Edward mine or Heartlands. Buses just down the road run hourly to Truro (#47). With a short walk you can get a bus to Falmouth (U2). More buses leave from nearby Redruth to take you all around Cornwall. In normal times a megabus leaves from Redruth. The train station at Redruth is 1.5 miles away, and can take you further west, and to St Ives for day trips. Or to Glasgow, Edinburgh, London..... all over the UK! Remember, the weather is only a problem if you don't have the right clothes and footwear! It can get chilly in the countryside at night time so bring something warm. And in the mornings the grass can be dewy so think about your footwear. For example, Birkenstocks aren't the best on dewy grass.
