Charming Rosmead Cottage, in the heart of Kalk Bay

A cosy, characterful and secure cottage in a quiet cobblestone street in the heart of Kalk Bay Village, on False Bay’s scenic coastline. The colourful harbour, tidal pool, beach, quirky shops and excellent restaurants are a few minutes’ walk away. The lovely loft-style main bedroom opens onto a balcony with mountain and sea views, while the spacious kitchen and cosy living area make you feel instantly at home. Park your car once, then enjoy walking to the many delights Kalk Bay has to offer! Bedrooms This beautiful cottage accommodates 6 people (4 adults and 2 children) in 3 bedrooms. The main, loft-style bedroom has a queen-size bed and French doors opening to a small balcony with a view of the sea. The second bedroom (downstairs) has a double bed, while the third (small) bedroom is suitable for 2 children and has a bunk bed. Bathrooms The main bedroom has an en-suite with a shower and toilet. The bathroom downstairs has a shower and toilet and is shared between the second and third bedrooms. Lounge/dining area The open-plan entertainment area features a comfortable L-shaped couch, a wood-burning stove and a dining table that seats 6. TV & WiFi There is a flatscreen TV which allows streaming from supported apps such as YouTube, Netflix and Showmax (you will require subscriptions to these services on your own device). There is also a DSTV decoder with a small range of channels. Free WiFi access (4Mbps, fastest available in Kalk Bay) is available throughout the house. Kitchen The spacious kitchen is well-equipped and includes an oven and 4 plate hob, dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, microwave and coffee machine. Outside area From the kitchen, French doors open onto a delightful little courtyard with wrought iron table and chairs, where you can enjoy breakfast in the morning sun. There is also a Weber/barbecue. On the other side of the kitchen a door leads to another enclosed outdoor area and a laundry room with a washing machine. The whole house is available to you during your stay, including the laundry room in the courtyard at the back of the house. Security The cottage has excellent security, including an alarm system linked to a dedicated armed response company, and security gates in front of all external doors. Charming Rosmead Cottage is situated in the historic heart of the seaside village of Kalk Bay, a gem on the stunning False Bay coastline. Kalk Bay is well-known for its quirky charm, fabulous views and wide selection of restaurants and coffee shops, as well as its galleries, restaurants and theatres. From the cottage you can walk to all of Kalk Bay’s main attractions, including the fascinating working harbour, tidal pools, swimming beaches and a variety of restaurants, such as the Olympia Cafe and Harbour House. Just around the corner you’ll find the shady Lever Street Park with a children’s playground, and also within easy walking distance is the wonderful Kalk Bay Theatre, for an unforgettable evening’s dining and entertainment. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: Muizenberg Beach, with its world-renowned Surfers’ Corner - 4 km Fish Hoek Beach - 3,4 km Historic Simon’s Town, Boulders Beach and the Penguin Colony - 10 km FURTHER AWAY: Cape Point - for an unforgettable experience at the tip of Africa - 35 km Cape Point Ostrich Farm - 22 km Cape Point Vineyards, a favourite for family picnics and lunches and their popular market on Thursday evenings in summer - 18 km Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens - 21 km Noordhoek Farm Village, for restaurants, gift shops and live music on occasion - 20 km Local markets in the area: Earth Fair Market (Tokai), Heritage market, Blue Bird Garage (Muizenberg - Friday afternoons/evenings and Sunday mornings) It is best to have your own vehicle or to use a service such as Uber, as public transport in the area is not reliable. NOISE: Please note that there is a noise curfew of 10pm during the week and 11pm over weekends. The houses in Kalk Bay are close to each other, and it is important to be mindful of the neighbours. PARKING: There is no dedicated parking bay, however parking is usually available on the quiet cobblestone street. No parking is allowed on the yellow lines.
