Situated on the banks of the mighty Clarence River on the Legendary Pacific Coast, Ulmarra sits half way between Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour. Listed as a Heritage Conservation Area the village of Ulmarra is an historic river port. Discover the nature, art and culture that the area has to offer. Only a short drive to pristine beaches, many art galleries, craft and collectables shops, the highest number of antiques stores on the east coast or the longest white-water kayak trail in Australia, and there's always the sugar cane and cattle farm countryside to enjoy. Ulmarra is half way between Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour on the Legendary Pacific Coast. Ulmarra's name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning "Bend in the River" and has become the arts and crafts, antiques and collectables hub of the Clarence Valley. Beautiful art, amazing hand crafted goods, fantastic local produce and unique gifts. Ulmarra is a small village of 450 people, you can easily spend an entire day wandering around the historic streets checking out the work of the local stores. If you want to venture further there is a bus at the door which will take you into Grafton to the south or Maclean and Yamba to the north. The Grafton airport and train station are only about 15 minutes away.
