Casa Molino is a comfortable village house situated in the upper part of Pinos del Valle. The Terrace Room has twin beds and is located on the 2nd floor across from the guest terrace with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Casa Molino is a traditional village house located in the upper part of Pinos del Valle close to the main church square. It has been reformed and updated by ourselves over the last 9 years to provide a spacious but welcoming house in which to enjoy your holiday. We have 2 rooms available for guests to choose from – 1 located on the ground floor and the 2nd on the second floor across from the roof terrace. To ensure guests have a comfortable stay all rooms have ceiling fans for the hotter months of the year. The house is not available to rent during the winter. Free Wifi is available throughout the house. The Terrace Room has an en-suite shower room, ceiling fan, panel heater, TV & free WiFi. Bedding and towels are provided for guests. Guests also have access to the lounge on the first floor where they can relax and watch TV, play board games or read many of the books available. This room also serves as the dining room with table & chairs, an area for guests to prepare their own breakfast/lunch or snacks, a microwave, kettle and fridge for the sole use of guests. There is also a kitchenette for guests to use. There is a private terrace with table & chairs to sit, relax and soak up the sun and fresh air of the valley. With the local bakery close by for fresh bread & a small supermarket located in the church square where wine/beer & snacks can be purchased, what a perfect way to round off a day exploring this beautiful area of Andalucia. For guests with outdoor equipment such as cycles, golf clubs, snowboards etc. we have a secure area to the rear of the property where these can be stored during guests stay when they are not in use. We will meet guests upon their arrival and provide them with a set of keys to their room and front door to the house. This gives guests the freedom to come and go as they wish during their stay. We also provide guests with information on the local area, bars, activities etc. Please note lost keys will be charged for at 25 euros paid in cash. El Valle de Lecrin (The Lecrin Valley) is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is famous for its landscape of orange and lemon groves, almond and olive trees and fruits of pomegranate and grapes. The valley has been inhabited since prehistoric times due to its excellent climatic conditions and was chosen by the Moors for it’s fertile land and they helped create the irrigation system we see today throughout the valley. Today it’s amazing views up to the snow capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, down through the lush valley to the waters of Lake Beznar and to the mountains beyond which run down to the Costa Tropical coastline make it an ideal location to be enjoyed by it’s many visitors. Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts the area offers fantastic opportunities for walkers, rock climbers, bird watchers, cyclists, golfers, painters and skiers in the winter months. With excellent road links, it also makes a great base to explore the beautiful cities of Granada, Alcala la Real, Baeza, Ubeda, and Cazorla, to name but a few, and the coast of the Costa Tropical. The village of Pinos del Valle is split into two areas (upper & lower barrios) and has two churches with different historic interest. The upper part of the village contains bars, shops, bakery, pharmacy and bank. If the visitor would like access to more amenities & shops these can be found in the local areas of Lecrin, Durcal and Padul. Local cuisine can be sampled in bars/restaurants such as Bar Venecia in Pinos, Los Naranjos or Puerta del Valle in Melegis, La Tasca in Niguelas, La Casita de Papel or Hotel Espana in Lanjaron, to name but a few. The best value meal to be had is a “menu del dia,” usually served Monday – Friday from 1 - 4pm (some establishments will also serve on a Saturday). The cost for 3 courses with a drink can range from 10 – 13 euros per person locally. Visitors should also note that this is one of the last areas in Spain where a free tapas is served with beer or wine (some places will also provide tapas when soft drinks are ordered). There are 3 walks available from the top of the village. The most popular is up to the Ermita high above the village and the other 2 are circular - Sendero Del Jabalí & El Rodeo de las Cabras - also starting from the top of the village. All walks can be found on Wikiloc but for ease here are the links: (1) Sendero del Jabali (The Wild Boar Trail) – Our first one is a 2/2.5 hour walk/MTB trail starting and ending at the Lavadero at the top of Pinos on the Juncal road (by the Sportsground). This is also the starting point for the popular walk up to the Ermita. Visit Wikiloc for more information. (Website hidden by Airbnb) ) El Rodeo de las Cabras is a pleasant circular walk from the Lavadero at the top of the village (as above) which follows part of the route up to the Ermita but branches off to the left at the black water pipe and takes you through the pine trees to a round water deposit. From here you have 2 options – you can continue on to your right following the path and walk the new Rodeo de las Cabras circular route which is available to download via Wikiloc or you can follow the path down to the left side of the water deposit and it will bring you back to the village via the main road & local track. (Website hidden by Airbnb) We also have a video of this trail and it’s extension – el Rodeo de las Cabras (see below) on YouTube. (Website hidden by Airbnb) (Website hidden by Airbnb) If you want to explore the wider Lecrin Valley then follow the Boabdil Route – full details on the Turismo Valle de Lecrin website & via Spanish Highs who also offer guided walking if self-guided is not your thing. Full details available on the respective websites. Alternatively download their routes from the Wikiloc website – Lecrins Rural Trails If you’d like to explore on or off road by cycle then contact Costa Tropical Cycling to hire cycles or sign up for guided tours in the Costa Tropical area. Being just over an hours drive from Malaga airport, 45 minutes from Granada airport, 30 minutes from the beautiful city of Granada which is renowned for its historic Moorish palace – The Alhambra, 20 minutes from the spa town of Lanjaron and 20 minutes from the Costa Tropical and its beaches, Casa Molino is ideally located for exploring the surrounding area by car. The village has 2 buses a day - one departing at 7am to Granada and another at 3.30pm in the afternoon. Alternatively a local taxi can be used to take guests into Durcal where there is a more frequent service into Granada. Buses can also be taken from Beznar into the Alpujarras.
