Close to a supermarket, restaurants, pubs, cafes, scenic walks and beaches. Guests have an entire two bedroom apartment with open plan living room/ kitchen area, two bathrooms and a covered balcony. While the apartment has everything you need to be completely self sufficient, we are close by to assist you should you need it. Crosshaven is located in lower Cork Harbour at the mouth of the Owenabue River, across from Curraghbinny Wood. Originally a fishing village from the 19th century it is now a tourist destination with cafes, restaurants and bars. Crosshaven is close to some of Cork’s finest beaches (5 within a 3km radius) and central to many scenic walks. The village is home to RCYC, the oldest yacht club in the world. According to local folklore, Sir Francis Drake sailed up the River Owenabue, while taking refuge from the Spanish Armada. A point in the river where he is alleged to have hidden is known as Drake's Pool. One local attraction is Fort Camden, “one of the finest remaining examples of a classical Coastal Artillery Fort in the world.” Crosshaven is 18km from Cork Airport and is on a public bus route to Cork City.
