Architect's home in Byron Hinterland
Nestled in the Byron hinterland this contemporary designed home was built for the architect and her family in 2014. It has sweeping views across the Hinterland and to Mt Chincogan and is in the village of Federal with its quaint general store, Doma Cafe and Moonshine coffee house. It is 15 minutes drive to Bangalow's shops and 25 minutes to the heart of cosmopolitan Byron Bay and its beaches. Federal is 50 minutes by road from Coolangatta Airport and 30 minutes to Byron-Ballina Airport. The master bedroom has magnificent views - you can see the Byron Lighthouse beam at night from the king sized bed! Next to this bedroom is a luxurious bathroom with moroccan tiles, an antique claw foot bath and marble benchtops. The second bedroom has a double bed, while the third bedroom has a king single. All the beds are supremely comfortable with quality bed linen. The second and third bedrooms have their own bathroom with marble benchtops and quality fittings. There is a generously appointed galley kitchen with quality appliances including Blanco gas cooktop, Ilve oven and Bosch dishwasher. Plates, cutlery, cookware provided and pantry with all the basic essentials you would expect. The lounge/dining area has soaring high ceilings, cool and crisp polished concrete floors and looks out on the stunning hinterland view from huge timber sliding doors and windows. The deck area is like another covered living space with outside dining, Weber BBQ, coffee table and comfy chairs to enjoy the sweeping valley views towards Coolamon Scenic Drive, St Helena and Mt Chincogan in the distance. The property is within Federal village but completely private and accessed via a 150m driveway behind the charming Federal School of Arts and former Anglican Church and shaded by a magnificent 150 year old fig tree. The guests have full access to the house and grounds and have their own parking spaces. This is our family home, so we hope you enjoy our personal possessions collected from our travels, and feel right at home. There is a separate self-contained studio within the 1-acre block which is not available to guests, and is sometimes inhabited by our adult daughter - we can advise on this subject to your dates. We are only a phone call away, and are happy to give advice and local tips where needed. Federal is a vibrant little village, with monthly film nights, pop-up restaurants, a stunning local swimming hole and a great community vibe. The now famous Doma Japanese cafe is a wonderful gathering spot for locals and visitors. Moonshine Coffee Roasters is just next door to the well stocked Feddy General Store, with it's bottle shop and friendly local staff. The village boasts a lovely park, a tennis court, and many gorgeous walks. There is no public transport in Federal so you will need your own car. The Federal village store and bottle shop, Doma Japanese cafe and Moonshine Coffee shop are two minutes walk away. Byron Bay's world-famous beaches and neighbouring villages are just a picturesque drive away through the stunning hinterland scenery. Enjoy the fresh taste of our filtered rain water. As we are on tank water only, we ask that guests be mindful of conserving water.
