Marousso's Seafront House

Marousso's Seafront House is your comfortable holiday home overlooking the bay of the fishing village of Aliki, Paros. Built in the traditional way in stone and wood in the 1950's and fully renovated in 2019 with tasteful decoration and all modern conveniences, it stands 20 metres off the seafront on elevated ground, offering magnificent sunset views to Aliki bay and the hills of Antiparos below. A part of Aliki history, it is now open for guests for the first time. The house is fully-airconditioned with all modern facilities, as well as full cooking & dining facilities (utensils, pots, pans, glasses & plates). All linens and towels are provided. It also boasts two yards (back and front) and an elevated open-air veranda which guests can use alternatively, depending on the time of the day/ position of the sun, as well a spacious parking facility. You can enjoy the privacy of the back yard, sitting under the shade of an old bougainvillea, or the unforgettable view of the Aliki bay that stretches up to Antiparos island from the front balcony. Marousso’s Seafront House has a total space of 60 sq.m. and offers two bedrooms: one overlooking the sea and equipped with a queen-sized bed, and another one with a view to the back yard, equipped with two single beds. The kitchen/living room has a seafront view and is fully equipped with fitted stove & oven, a large refrigerator, filter-, iced- (frappe) & espresso- coffee machines, a microwave oven and a sandwich toaster; it also has a sofa-bed (convertible) which can sleep one person. There are also an interior WC and a larger exterior bathroom, traditionally located at the back yard 5m off the back door & equipped with a washing machine. There is also a garden shower which guests should use to rinse the sand off their feet. The house is located right by the small port of Aliki; if you have a boat, you can even moor it below the house and watch it from the veranda! One can get to the supermarket at 80m from the house, to the bus-stop to Paroikia at 120m, and walk to the two sandy beaches of Aliki at 300m and 100m from either side of the house respectively. What is truly remarkable however, are the sunset views from the elevated front veranda: over the fishing boats scattered in Aliki bay below and the hills of Antiparos island beyond. The sun sets right in front of the house; you may find it hard to go anywhere else at sunset & dusk time! Guests have full & exclusive access to all areas (interior & exterior) of the house. I am available to help my guests whenever they need me. Alyki is a relaxed but well-established tourist destination, especially popular with beach-lovers and families. It is the center of the less-developed southern part of Paros, and some of the most beautiful, pristine sandy beaches and coves on the island are within one hour of seaside walking. We also boast some of the best sunset views on Paros! Only up 100 m away, along the seafront promenade of Aliki, you can find some of the best seaside restaurants in Paros (especially regarding seafood), a supermarket, two bakeries, five cafés, shops etc. One can rent bicycles, scooters, ATVs or cars in the village and there is also an ATM for cash withdrawals. We will also be around to help you if necessary! The house is located in the center of Aliki village, and 12 km/20 min by bus/car from Parikia the island's capital & port and 6km/10 min from the airport. Water heater is electric (located at main switchboard behind the main-front door) and requires approx. 20 min for heating and should be turned off when showering. Please use front door when leaving/entering the house and take magnetic card/key with you. Families with small children should be aware of steps to main entrance and low rail on front veranda. Please handle interior window shutters with care (delicate mechanism). Please use water sparingly as it is a most valuable resource on our islands. Finally, please do not throw any paper or other objects in toilets & basins, as there is serious danger of sewage blockage.
