A unique 4 bedroom / 3 bathroom detached house that is located literally on the beach at the beautiful harbour town of Eyemouth. Built in 1886, the house has just been tastefully renovated with all of the old features kept intact. Wake up and fall asleep to the sound of the waves rolling onto the beach! Each room has a stunning ocean view, overlooking the beach and the cliffs of Eyemouth. The Pink House is an hour from Edinburgh by car or 10 minutes to Berwick where the train takes an hour. Originally a Fisherman's house the accommodation is set out over 3 floors. The huge kitchen / dining area and the double aspect living room with log burner are located on the first floor. This allows them to make the most of the spectacular ocean views! The master suite is on the 2nd floor, where the vaulted ceiling and free standing bathtub create a striking, open space. All four rooms have super king or king sized beds and have been redecorated to a five star standard. There are two double sofa beds in the living room that are perfect for kids, allowing the house to sleep up to 12 people. There is an outside open patio space with tables and chairs to seat up to 8. We have provided a charcoal bbq and utensils. This space is screened by rusty steel planters but is open to the harbour and the sunset views from here are stunning! The entire house is available to rent and for your exclusive use during the length of your stay! There is a lock box at the front door for self check in but we are available on the phone for any questions. The main entrance features a spacious hallway and staircase leading to the kitchen / dining and living areas on the 1st floor. The back entrance of the house leads into the boot room / laundry room /dog room. Perfect for beach days where guests can first wash off at the outside tap and then have ample space for bags / boots / coats etc. There are also 2 large bedrooms (both with stunning sea views) and a spacious wet room on this floor - suitable for disabled access. The front bedroom has a super kingsized bed, double aspect ocean view and original features. The 1st floor has the living room with a cosy log burner, 55in smart TV and 3 windows over looking Eyemouth harbour and beach. The view from this room is absolutely amazing and is the main reason why we fell in love with the house. We have kept all the original features in this room, including the intricate coving and traditional wooden shutters. There are 2 really comfy, loaf, double sofa beds in this room - making it a perfect sleep over room for kids! The first thing we did when we bought the house was knock 3 rooms into 1 to create a massive kitchen / dining / snug space. It is the perfect entertaining room with a double range cooker, fridge / freezer, dishwasher, wine fridge etc. The extending dining table seats up to 12 and the kitchen island an extra 4. The kitchen has everything you need to make the house feel like home. We use the house as our holiday home and are really happy to share it with other people and hope that you get as much enjoyment out of it as we do. On the second floor, the master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, super king sized bed, free standing bath and separate shower. The 4th bedroom has a king sized bed and ensuite shower room. Any questions we are always at the end of the phone but feel it is nice to give our guests space to fully enjoy the house without us breathing down their necks! Eyemouth is a small town and civil parish in Berwickshire, in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland. It is 2 miles (3.2 km) east of the main north-south A1 road and just 8 miles (13 km) north of Berwick-upon-Tweed. It has a population of about 3,420 people (2004). The town's name comes from its location at the mouth of the Eye Water. The Berwickshire coastline consists of high cliffs over deep clear water with sandy coves and picturesque harbours. A fishing port, Eyemouth holds a yearly Herring Queen Festival. Notable buildings in the town include Gunsgreen House and a cemetery watch-house built to stand guard against the Resurrectionists (body snatchers). Many of the features of a traditional fishing village are preserved in the narrow streets and 'vennels', giving shelter from the sea and well-suited to the smuggling tradition of old. Eyemouth is also known for the fishing disaster of 1881, when the lives of 189 local fisherman were lost at sea during a ferocious storm. Follow the story of Black Friday at the town’s museum. We are located literally in the centre of town, on the beach and there are numerous shops, pubs and restaurants within 2 minutes walking distance. There is parking space for 5 cars in the courtyard. Eyemouth is 10 minutes to Berwick-upon-Tweed where you can catch a train to Edinburgh in an hour. There is also a bus service to Edinburgh from Eyemouth. We are dog lovers ourselves and are happy to accept dogs with prior arrangement. We respectfully ask that your dog is clean and dry before entering the property and kept out of the bedrooms and off the furniture. There is a tap and hose in the outside store cupboard where your dog can be cleaned and some towels for your dog provided.
