> 260-plus 5 star reviews > Dogs welcome inside - plus fully fenced 2.5 acre property > Friendly & knowledgeable superhosts > Plenty of privacy > Complimentary Netflix > Travel cot > 1pm check in > One night bookings welcome You are invited to stay on our 2.5 acre property in Blewitt Springs, within the beautiful McLaren Vale wine region. Our converted 'Top Shed' will give you the privacy you crave, including your own living area and bathroom. Wildlife and birdwatchers paradise! The Top Shed is a converted ensuite shed on our 2.5 acre property in Blewitt Springs. It's the perfect space for a couple wanting to get away to the McLaren Vale wine region for some rest and relaxation amongst nature. We've listed it in the 'Entire Home/Apartment' category as it is completely separate from the main residence, and not just a 'private room' within our house. Whilst being based on our property, you will enjoy the privacy of The Top Shed being separated from the main house. Our typical guests include people - > seeking a getaway from the rat race for a few nights > attending weddings at local wineries > traveling off-the-beaten-track around Australia > in the area for work, seeking a comfortable but convenient base We have many requests for early check in as so we offer early 1pm check in as standard. Check out is 10am. AN AUTHENTIC AIRBNB EXPERIENCE Please know that we are proud that The Top Shed is exactly the kind of accommodation that Airbnb was originally designed for - we aren't an accommodation business - you're going to be staying on our private property! We love sharing our 2.5 acre piece of paradise with visitors to the region. The Top Shed gives you total privacy during your stay, but you'll likely have our dog saying hello, and might experience our kids riding their bike around the paddock or wanting to play fetch with your dog! IT’S A DOGS LIFE Jeff, our 12-year old labradoodle, will be keen to give you a warm welcome if you enjoy doggy company! We ask that our gates are always kept closed to keep Jeff safely inside the property. This includes being cautious when arriving at and leaving the property. Jeff’s best friend Madge, a white labradoodle, has recently gone to dog heaven, after 11 years of being his co-host. So please give him extra cuddles during your stay as he comes to terms with being our only dog. The Top Shed welcomes friendly dogs to stay. Your dog can stay inside with you, we just request they stay off the furniture. The 2.5 acres is fully fenced. For your dogs safety, we ask that you supervise your dog at ALL TIMES whilst you are staying with us. This is a country property with wild animals visiting neighbouring paddocks, and sometimes our paddock! There is a gate that can be pulled across the carport of The Top Shed if you need to leave your dog for a short period of time, though we are happy to provide recommendations for dog friendly restaurants and wineries. Please bring all of your dogs requirements. Please note that we are not a dog sitting service, so if you need to leave your dog whilst you attend a wedding or event, we can easily provide local kennel recommendations. LIFE'S TOO SHORT TO COOK AT HOME If you're wondering about the set up of The Top Shed, think of it as a super homely and well equipped hotel room set in the beautiful surrounds of the countryside! There is no kitchen, but for your convenience there is a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. We provide basic cutlery, two wine glasses, water glasses and mugs. We are happy to provide recommendations to local cafes, takeaways, restaurants and wineries! We HIGHLY recommend exploring this region with your taste buds! Follow us on Insta and FB for more photos and local tips! When you stay with us, you'll enter the property via a gate off Moritz Road. The aptly named Top Shed is at the 'top' of the property and is the first building on the right as you enter. Our home is tucked away further down the hill. You are welcome to enjoy our property - have a wander around the paddocks, spot koalas in the trees, have a cluck with the chickens, visit our beehive, or say hello to the sheep or kangaroos in the paddock next door! We live on the property so will be available should you have any questions. We are always happy to provide tips on places to visit in the region, and can happily recommend tours, wineries, restaurants and more. We can provide a list of local drivers for getting you from A to B. Blewitt Springs is an elevated rural area east of McLaren Vale. It is a sub-region of McLaren Vale, and is well known in winemaking circles for it's band of deep ancient sandy soils which grow amazing Grenache vines. With a population of just 329 people spread over 19 square kilometres, there's a real feeling of space and tranquility across beautiful farming, grape-growing and residential properties. A stay in "The Springs" will indulge your need for escapism and leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed! We definitely recommend a car for getting around the McLaren Vale wine region. If you don't have a car, let us know and we can advise on the best tours and transport options. COVID-19 REASSURANCES We would like to reassure our guests that whilst we always receive high ratings for the cleanliness of The Top Shed, we have introduced even more thorough cleaning measures when we turnover between guests. This includes paying particular attention to disinfecting door handles, surfaces, and other areas. There is no better time to spend a few nights tucked away in the safe haven of The Top Shed! We strongly encourage our guests to check in to businesses they visit, wear masks, to practice physical distancing, and continue good hand hygiene during their visit to McLaren Vale. GETTING AROUND Please note that this property is in a country location. We are 10km from the township of McLaren Vale where the nearest supermarkets are. You WILL NOT be able to summons a taxi on demand and whilst it’s getting better, Ubers can’t be guaranteed! (though we’ve had guests say they’ve got an Uber no problem - even UberPets with their dogs!) If you're not using your car, pre-planning of travel arrangements is essential to get around and we are more than happy to supply the names and numbers of local drivers that we recommend.
