En suite rural farmhouse for 2+2 breakfast & pool

Set in rural France next to the Saumort river; La Maison Neuve is a pre-Napoleonic farmhouse with a garden, patio and large (seasonal) pool. The area is tranquil and has direct access to countryside walks. Free parking at the house and secure parking for bicycles/motorbikes/quads if requested on booking. At the local village there is a bar and a new bar restaurant which are about a 20 minute walk or 5 minutes drive away. La Maison Neuve is located at the end of a small rural lane offering peace and tranquility along side the river Saumort. You will have a private room with ensuite shower, a double bed and a double sofa bed which will be set up if needed (please indicate when booking if required). The bedroom is located upstairs at the far end of the house, and below is a small sitting room where breakfast will be available. There is Wifi available in the house and gardens, however mobile phone signal can be poor. Sadly we are unable to offer any kitchen or cooking facilities to our guests in our home. We live in the property and have a small and friendly dog Hattie, who will be happy to welcome you. There is a strict no smoking policy in the house Bedroom, small living room, garden and pool. Your room is part of the house in which we live, so we will be on hand should you need assistance with places to visit during your day away from the home etc. La Maison Neuve is next to La Chapelle-Thireuil and allows easy access to places like Secondigny with it's lake and woodland walks or Coulonges-sur-l'Autize which has a vibrant Tuesday market, bars and restaurants, just 15 minutes drive away. Carry on south-West to Marais Poitevin (green Venice) just 40 minutes drive away is a wonderful place to spend some time. Major towns like Niort and Parthenay full of History are within easy reach both just a 40 minute drive. La Rochelle, one of our personal favourites, about 65 Km away with it's bars and restaurants along the harbour and throughout the town selling some of the best fruit de mer! Being so close to the Vendee border gives easy access to it's beaches and just an hours drive to Puy du Fou; or closer to home the beautiful Medieval towns of Vouvant and Mervent. These are just a few of the places where you can spend your day. Then when you return to La Maison Neuve you can just relax in the garden or by the pool and listen to the owls in the evening, watch the bats swoop across the starlit sky and hear the river passing by. There is walking from the house straight onto a chemin. also cycling is popular here . But, we are in a rural location so your own transport is essential. And don't forget your mask! This is a bed and breakfast, we have no license or insurance to allow guests to cook in our home. Please note: There is a beehive on site.
