Centrally located in Golden Bay up a quiet valley beside native forest, with farmland views to the ocean. As your hosts we are fully vaccinated against Covid 19, we request our guests also to be fully vaccinated. Thankyou for your understanding. Your accommodation is a wing of our home with your own entrance and courtyard connected to our home through a hallway with a lockable door. Privacy assured. Your area is self contained. Only 5 mins drive to Patons Rock Beach and 10 ks to Takaka. You will wake to the sounds of birdsong and a babbling creek beside pristine native bush. Your cosy comfortable area area includes a bedroom, lounge room , wifi, small kitchenette, your own bathroom, separate toilet and laundry. Your space has all you need within it. In winter it is warm and cosy with double glazing and heaters. This space includes one double bedroom with a super-king size bed a comfortable lounge room with 2 lounges , no TV. The rooms open onto your private courtyard with outdoor table and BBQ, with views from the courtyard over farmland to the sea. There is a chiminea ( outdoor fireplace) and firewood supplied in the courtyard. The courtyard is your private space. Your kitchenette is an extended space in the hallway. It includes - bench space with sink, toaster, jug, one element, microwave, small (bar sized) fridge, all utensils and crockery are supplied (any extra available on request). The element is for boiling, we prefer frying to be done on the outside BBQ. You have your own bathroom with a shower over a bath and a separate toilet. Our washing machine is in the hallway in your space, for you to use. We provide coffee, tea and some breakfast basics for your arrival day. You are welcome to enjoy seasonal produce from our garden. We have vegetable gardens and numerous fruit trees. We have a shy cat and 6 friendly sheep. We also have wekas - flightless native birds, that need to be kept from coming inside ! The cat is kept from the guest area. Your parking is in our garage next to your accommodation space - you can access your area from the garage. Guests are welcome to enjoy our grounds around our home including our gardens and our beautiful rustic native bush and creek. We can show you how to access the bush. Our beautiful bush backs onto Kahurangi National Park. We are creating a basic walking track in this bush - a work in progress ! The creek is beautiful in this bushland and we recommend spending some quiet time in it. At the end of our road is the start of the Parapara Peak track - the highest peak in the Golden Bay area. The Awa ( river) of this area runs off this peak. We are as available as much or as little as guests want however one of us is generally about for advice, or contactable if needed. We enjoy meeting people but are always respectful of your privacy. We enjoy sharing information with guests regarding the delights of Golden Bay. Our property includes several acres of pristine native bush, backing on to Kahurangi National Park, a stream and 2 small paddocks for our friendly sheep to enjoy. Golden Bay has a prolific number of activities and places to explore. These include beaches, art galleries, horse riding, walking trails, holistic health practitioners, yoga, kayaking, cafes, restaurants and watering holes such as the renowned Mussell Inn . Close by is Patons Rock Beach (5 mins drive) , nearby horse riding on the beach with Hack n Stay (host can arrange). Yoga classes can be recommended by host. Host can assist you to arrange appointments for self care including massage and other holistic healthcare if desired. Golden Bay is nestled between two iconic National Parks - Abel Tasman and Kahurangi which includes the Heaphy Track. Your own transport is required to explore our stunning region. There are many beautiful walking tracks. Hosts can recommend local walks. As your hosts we are both fully vaccinated against Covid 19. We request guests to be vaccinated to keep us all as safe as possible. We ask you to scan in with your Covid tracer App on arrival if you have one. Thanks for your understanding.
