This house is a small tribute to our dearest mother Ioanna who was born in this village and her wish was a house by the sea she so adored. It's our family getaway, our childhood paradise of joy,swimming and daydreaming. Happy to share it with guests who love tranquility, sea, nature.Enjoy its special vibe and location, amazing sea view, peaceful surrounding with no direct neighboors. Nested in a private 2hectares bio olive grove, 20metres from a "private" beach, 5' walk from the market&taverns. Welcome to our home! This is our family holiday getaway that we love dearly! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do and feel its welcoming family atmosphere! The house has been renovated starting in 2019 and finishing in 2020 so you will enjoy plenty of space inside and outside. The house is a good choice for families with kids who feel relaxed in the beautiful simplicity of Mediterranean nature. The house is set up for families with kids but if you just need to escape the busy life and recharge your batteries or travel around the wonderful sightseeing of the Messinian land, you are here at the right place! Τhe house has a spacious veranda that is above the beach offering a fantastic uninterrupted sea view. The other veranda is by the main entrance and looks over our private 2 hectares olive grove inside the property. You have complete access to all the property with no other guests or neighbours. The property has a wire fence around it so it is safe for kids and pets. Please note if you have pets though you need to keep an eye on it and not leave it alone as in front of the house overlooking the sea, pets can escape. If you are a yoga lover, bring your mat and just enjoy your practice here; you will love it! The olive grove view veranda is ideal for cool morning breakfasts while the sea view veranda is perfect for hot days because of the cooling sea breeze or just all day and night! Wake up early every morning to amazing sunrises and relax in the evening watching the spectacular moon rises over the mountains of Mani in front. The house is an open plan; it has three master bedrooms, two with seaview and one with garden view. The lounge room is connected with the open plan kitchen with plenty of space and with fantastic sea view. There is also a flat-screen TV and a dining room table with chairs. We provide a wooden baby bed for babies up to 2- 3 years old. There is always available a baby chair for the table for a baby or small kid up to 20k. The mattresses of the double beds are new (since April 2018), medium softness, and anatomic type. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric stove and new fridge freezer (since October 2018), toaster, boiler, and filter coffee machine. There is one single bed in the second lounge area between two bedrooms and one sofa bed in the third lounge area. In general there are free spaces in and out where you can feel relaxed and enjoy your holidays without being packed! The open rooftop terrace offers unlimited views of the Messinian Gulf and is perfect for morning sunrises and star gazing with the lights of Kalamata and Koroni castle in the background. The access to the roof terrace is via a staircase next to the entrance. The style of the house is simple and practical with modern comforts. We add each year more things to make our guests life easier! You will find all you need to have a happy, simple life by the beach and enjoy it! The land around the property is 2 hectares with olive trees of hundreds of years old, it is actually a farm around it with soil and wild flowers, and other trees. Depending on the season that you come, you can taste the fresh apricots just from our tree (June), fresh lemons (spring-autumn/maybe all year round), mandarins and oranges (January-February). We would love it if you could water the flowers close to the house during your stay in the hot days of the summer; they will reward you with their beauty! There is plenty of parking space for cars and one shaded carport. There are also two outdoor showers, garden furniture in the two verandas and plenty of space for kids & dogs to play safely. ( In case you want to bring your best pet friend, please note that we don't allow pets on beds- they have plenty of space not to complain about it!) The two bathrooms are fully renovated and brand new. We have a solar panel which is brand new and provides plenty of hot water even on days without sun, so you don't need to use an electric boiler at all. The open plan lounge and kitchen areas have large sliding patio doors from floor to ceiling with double glazing that opens up on to the sea view veranda so even when you are inside the house you can still enjoy the wonderful sea view. The house is located on a small cliff overlooking a lovely beach, that is less than 20 meters away! There is no path in front of the house directly to the beach but the access to it is easy, just 1- minute walk- 40 meters to the path that leads to the beach- and then easy steps to the beach. You can see the photos of the path in the gallery. On the beach, you will also find a stone built shower with natural spring water coming from the mountain -which is free to use - a perfect way to wash the salty sea water off your body. You will also find natural shade all day by the trees and the rocks on the sides. We try to keep the beach clean as it is a natural hub for the sea turtles Kareta- Kareta which is a protected animal that leaves in the Mediterranean sea; we kindly ask you to respect that and don't leave plastic bags, cigarettes or any garbage on the beach as it is very dangerous for their life. Please note: The main rules of the house are two: please do not throw the toilet paper in the toilet instead use the bin please as if you dont follow this rule the drain will be blocked! Trust us you don't want this problem during your holidays as it might take time until it is fixed and you will be asked to pay for the damage! Also, Smoking is STRICTLY NOT aloud inside the house we have fire and smoke alarm in case you forget it and you smoke the alarm goes on and on until it stops and believe us it is very loud! Plus we want to keep the house Smoke free! We only want positive, easy going, relaxed and happy guests! We are not a hotel that accepts everyone! So make sure you really like what you see, read everything and agree and come with a feeling to have a good time, because if you do have this, you will have- if you are not happy, we are not happy - so let's avoid the waste of energy! Guests have private access to the entire house and use of all facilities. It is very important to us that you have a wonderful stay and be happy with your choice to stay with us. That is why we set it as a house rule that you give us your feedback as soon as you do the check-in. Also before you make the booking, please ask about any small or big detail is important for you so we make sure everything is as you want when you come. Our cancellation policy is STRICT and we will not be able to refund you in case you change your mind for any reason, after the check-in. Also, we do care a lot about having guests who respect our property and keep it safe throughout their stay so please read the house rules before booking and follow them during your stay. In case of damages to anything that belongs to the property during your stay because of not following the house rules, we will be in the unpleasant situation to ask you to pay for it. Please, note that we need you to provide us your full name and ID number or Passport number upon arrival. Guests that might refuse to do so, we will not be able to accept them as we will be against the Greek law and in that case it will not be given any refund. As we know the area very well, we are happy to assist you with any useful information and tips you may need in order to experience the area like a local. The house is just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Charnoi village. You have your peace of mind, steps from a beautiful quiet beach, and there are no direct neighboors to the property, yet everything is close such as one mini market open every day, nice local taverns with fresh Greek food, cafes, one sports bar and three beach bars. If you are a golf enthusiast, Costa Navarino, the unique awarded signature golf course in Greece and two of the best in Europe, are only 50 minutes drive away. If you love castles and archaeological sights, the castles of Koroni and Methoni, Pylos and Kalamata are within 15-52 minutes drive. The waterfall of Polylimnio is just 35 minutes drive. Waterfalls, the Unesco Heritage island of Sapientza, the amazing Ancient Messini archaeological site, and some wonderful beaches are close by, too. If you love sailing, horse riding, hiking, SUP, windsurfing and other outdoor activities you are at the right place as there are plenty of different options for you in the village and in the area close by. The nearest ATM and pharmacy are in Agios Andreas and Petalidi villages, 4-8 Km away. There is a public doctor once a week in Chranoi and 24/7 a general doctor in Logga Village 6 Km drive. For COVID 19 tests, there is a diagnosis center in Koroni, a couple ones in Messini and a few in Kalamata. The region of South Messinia is surely one unique destination and we are happy to share our top secrets so you experience the best during your stay. All Times & Distances Via online Maps Our house is only 33 minutes (26kms) easy drive from Kalamata airport and 2,5 hours (287kms) drive from Athens airport. From the town of Kalamata, it's only 40 minutes (28kms) drive with a car or 1 hour by bus. If you prefer to take the bus from Athens, the Athens- Koroni bus that leaves every morning from the main bus station (Ktel Kifissou) of Athens will leave you right outside the house ( it takes about 4 hours and you can get to the bus station directly from the airport of Athens with the express bus X94). Also, you can take the Express Kalamata bus that will take you to Kalamata bus station in 3 hours sharp which departs every two hours from Athens- easy and comfortable journey (one-way ticket Athens -Kalamata 24,3 Euro). Do let us know if you need a pick up from the airport of Kalamata and if we are available we can arrange it. If you are planning to arrive by car you will enjoy the freedom of going anywhere you want any time of the day. If you plan to come without a private vehicle, the local buses offer plenty of routes to Koroni, Petalidi, Kalamata, Pylos, Methoni, Finikouda etc. (daily car hire available in the village 5 mins from our house). In order to go to the beach, you walk on the main road for about 35 meters from and then follow an easy path that at some point has steps, wide and smaller ones. Because of the steps, we would not recommend it for older ages, disabled people or the ones that have kinetic problems. We especially welcome guests who love yoga, sports, love nature, are non- smokers and love pets. We try to help the strays and the local dog shelters so if you are interested in adopting a lovely dog or a cat from the area do let us know we LL be happy to help you to get to the nearest dog shelter. It is a unique experience!
