The self contained Garden Room Annex

The Annex has it's own access and is connected to the house via a lockable door. Guests have sole use of the bed sitting room and adjoining shower room and outside decked area. You can choose either queen or single beds. Towels, toiletries and bed linen are provided. There are 9 steps up to the Annex therefore access is not suitable for wheel chair users or people with significant mobility issues. Teas/coffee/milk available in the room. Fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, fan, iron/board. The Garden Room Annex has a TV, fridge, microwave, electric toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board, hair drier and wall mounted fan to cool the space in summer. Our house is located on the side of a valley overlooking farmland, Durweston village and the River Stour. We are along a bumpy single track which is paralell to the A350 road. Lots of walking and running routes in and around Stourpaine. Good local bus service. The Annex is great for people who prefer to be independent and want to come and go as you please. One or both of us (and Reggie our little dog) will be around most of the day to offer help, answer questions and to suggest places to visit. The Garden Room is located on the edge of the historic Saxon village of Stourpaine in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The White Horse Pub with restaurant, grocery shop and Post Office is 5 minutes walk from the Garden Room. Cycle or walk along Trailway over the River Stour to Shillingstone or to the famous Georgian town of Blandford. The extensive walks take in Blandford Forest, Hod Hill and Hambledon Hill, the Roman hill forts with amazing views. The famous Georgian town of Blandford is 3 miles away, Shaftesbury is a 25 minute drive. You can walk or cycle along the trailway to Blandford or Shillingstone, both a 5 minute or so drive away. There is a regular bus service past our house. Bed change and room cleaning is your responsibility during your stay. If you require there are extra pillows under in the under bed cupboard where you'll also find the new bedsheets and towels if you are staying for more than 5 days. The Annex cleaning materials are in the shower room. Anything else you need just ask. Sometimes we are away Friday to Sunday. However the place is self-contained and we will make sure we meet you, settle you in.
