Charming Grade II listed cottage Kirkby Lonsdale

A charming little cottage in the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale, this pretty Grade II listed home is the perfect getaway for a couple. Just a few hundred metres from Ruskins View, the Cottage is moments from the delightful shops, restaurants and coffee shops of this popular market town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Cosy and comfortable, the Cottage is the perfect base from which to explore the Lune Valley or make easy day trips into the Dales or Lake District National Parks. The cottage blends the old with the new. As a Grade II listed home and accessed via a small cobbled lane, it is among the oldest properties in Kirkby Lonsdale. However, internally it has been refurbished in 2020 to provide contemporary and comfortable accommodation with WiFi and Smart TV to keep you connected. The entire house is available and exclusively accessible to guests. You have the whole house to yourselves so come and go as you please. The cottage is arranged over three floors and was completely refurbished in 2020. The kitchen is on the ground floor and fully stocked with all the cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils you will need during your stay. Tea and coffee is provided too. The living room is on the first floor and combines a cosy corner for watching television with a nice bright dining space on the other side of the room. There are a range of super comfy soft seats and a Loaf sofa, with rustic handmade tables. Smart TV and high speed WiFi is installed, so you are always connected. The bedroom is on the top floor and characterised by the beautifully restored beams in the vaulted ceiling above the king size bed. A stylish en suite comprises a good sized shower but you you may prefer to relax with a long soak in the freestanding bath at end of the day. There is ample storage for everything you bring in a fitted wardrobe. We provide all guests with a free parking permit to one of the Town's three carparks, which are no more than 3-4 minutes walk away. This parking permit also gives our guests free parking at several other carparks in South Lakeland, including in Ambleside, Bowness, Windermere and Kendal (a list of eligible carparks is provided). Free roadside parking is also available near to the Cottage. Guests are able to pull up temporarily outside the Cottage to drop and collect luggage. We grew up in Kirkby Lonsdale and will be on hand to answer any questions you have or provide any help. However, we expect that you will just want to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing break. Kirkby Lonsdale is a small and pretty market town situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Flanking the three counties of Cumbria, Lancashire and North Yorkshire the town offers a tranquil and picturesque base from which to explore the English Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland. Kirkby Lonsdale itself is a historic, quaint market town with a growing reputation for high quality independent shopping (it was runner-up in the 2016 Great British High Street Awards), as well as excellent restaurants, cafés and bars. The Town is notably home to the 14th century Devil's Bridge, as well as Ruskin's View, which inspired a painting by artist JMW Turner in 1822, and poet John Ruskin to declare ‘I do not know in all my country, still less in France or Italy, a place more naturally divine.’ With so much to see and do in the area, you can choose to keep yourself busy or perhaps simply relax and enjoy the peace and beauty that Kirkby Lonsdale has to offer. There is no allocated parking with the cottage, however free roadside parking is available nearby. The cottage is situated on Church Lane which is cobbled and not accessible for vehicles, but you are able to park here temporarily to drop and collect your luggage.
