Garden facing flat in world renowned wine making village Puligny-Montrachet. Built and designed to the highest standards, includes a Bulthaup kitchen, Villeroy&Boch shower room. Those who enjoy Puligny-Montrachet will find a matching experience. The flat is accessed directly from the front yard, where you can reverse the car and lift luggage thought a double door into the entrance hall. The 'grand entree' is covered in slate, which will help on rainy days to undress and park buggies. The flat is entirely on the garden or ground level and covered with underfloor heated solid oak floors. There are two small bedrooms (without doors, each approx 6sqm) opening to the kitchen / living room (18sqm). One has a 160cm queen sized bed, the other two singles. We can provide a cot for the youngest guests. Kitchen is fitted with German Gaggenau dishwasher, oven, double induction cooking plate and a Miele under-counter fridge. A sliding door opens the entire flat to a larch-wood decked terrace with outdoor table and lounge chairs. The walnut and sour cherry tree canvases give enough shade from the midday sun to make the terrace warm, but still shady. As opposed to a hotel or B&B we think you will feel at home and never feel pressure to leave the house to eat or burn energy. We have traveled the world (with our kids) and know what it takes to make a place feel comfortable, from being able to cook a full dinner with Gaggenau appliances to having a Miele washing machine to keep the show on the road in style. Puligny will permit you to enjoy visits to the wine makers, cycling along the Grand Cru route, long walks through the world famous vineyards and the forest up the hill. Hot air balloon rides, light aircraft lessons and golf are all a short drive away even if wine is not the meaning of your life. Beaune is 12km away and offers farmers market on Saturday's, Chagny 4km on Sunday. Great restaurants are abundant including Le Montrachet a few minute walk down our street, with a terrace service which is great with kids of all ages. Available for any questions or issues over email/phone. We don’t permanently live in Puligny-Montrachet, but help is always available. Puligny-Montrachet, as you no doubt know if you have got this far, is one of the worlds most renounced white wine villages. The village itself is an interesting mix of people working in wine. You will cue in the boulangerie with celebrity winemakers, but arrive early because work starts at dawn in the fields and the baguettes are still hot. There are two restaurants in Puligny; Le Montrachet at the main square (at the end of our street) is top restaurant of Burgundy, however maintaining a friendly atmosphere (say hello from us to Thierry, the general manager, maybe you will get treated to an extra 'amuse bouche'). You are likely to be interested in wine, so try to arrange to meet some of the smaller producers of Cote du Beaune or Cote du Nuit, many of them will be glad to have you taste their wines as well as philosophy of life. Time moves at its own pace in Burgundy, the way it has for thousands of years. A car would be convenient but taxis are also available (but no Uber yet). People travel from far to bike in the area and it’s a great way to explore the region. Walking and even hiking on the surprisingly steep hillsides above the wines will give vantage over the four world famous villages, Mersault, Puligny, Chassagne and St Aubin. Pommard and Volnay are not far in the distance either and within a day trek. With two kids having grown up in the house, are many things to play with, but why kids of all ages love it is that they can move in and out and back without restriction. The garden is large enough for independent exploration, yet never out of sight from the flat and the terrace. With underfloor heating throughout, the whole floor becomes a play area on chilly days and in the evenings. The garden has lights (which inside the tool-shed under the staircase), which means that it outdoor fun can continue after dusk, however hopefully they will be so exhausted from running around during the day that they will be fast asleep and give the parents a well-deserved chance to enjoy a glass of cold Puligny on the terrace. We have a few bikes that you can borrow, however if you do please take responsibility that they don't disappear. There is a small trampoline for outdoor use.
