Located on 6 acres, with stunning views across the Strzelecki Ranges and across to the Prom. Set in the green rolling hills of South Gippsland. There is abundant bird life to spot, Kookaburras, Black Cockatoos, Tawny Frogmouths and Wedge Tail Eagles. At night, turn the lights out and enjoy the amazing array of stars in the sky, unaffected by town lights, while toasting a marshmallow on an open fire (fire restrictions permitting). Have fun on a wombat spotting expedition; hint there's one underneath the house. Count the different frog calls as you go for walks. Many areas to visit: Agnes falls, Wilsons Prom, Port Welshpool, McLoughlins beach, Port Albert, Foster, Fish Creek, Toora or surf beaches at Sandy Point/Warratah Bay. Enjoy a coffee with home made German deserts at the cafe in Toora, or a drive to Port Welshpool and walking along the newly reconstructed, 800 metre long jetty. There is plenty to do, or just sit and enjoy the country peace and quiet. Cottage: Three bedroom, one with King size latex mattress, one Queen sized latex topped mattress and bunk room (sleeps up to 4 children). Note 8 is a tight squeeze, but 6 is comfortable. Cosy living room, with log burner and dining table. Board games, a large screen TV with DVD’s. Simple cosy kitchen, bathroom, separate toilet and laundry. Local Area There are many interesting places to visit in the local area depending on your interests. Agnes falls is the highest waterfall in Victoria spanning 59 meters. Toora is the closest local town, which has a fabulous outdoor heated pool complex, cafe's, antique shops, supermarket, hotel, children's playground, skate park and access to the rail trail which runs from Leongatha! Also has the Heritage Pear Orchard with approximately 60 varieties of pear. Foster is a lovely country town with supermarkets, cafes etc. It has a golf course and hosts a monthly Sunday market and a farmer's market. Rail Trail – ride or walk the well maintained Rail Trail that runs from Welshpool, passing through Fish Creek and ends at Leongatha. Port Welshpool is a working fishing port with pier. Succulent locally caught fish can be enjoyed from the local fish and chip shop. There is a child friendly beach with views to the Prom makes for a great afternoon out. Wilson's Prom - famous National Park with secluded beaches, coastal forests and native animals. There is an information centre where you can pick up all the information on local walks. Walkerville – Wonderful beaches, renown for it's rock formations, historic lime kilns, cemetery and rugged coastline walks. Sandy Point Beaches are patrolled in the summer months. Waratah Bay surf beach or Shallow inlet for calmer water. Historic Port Albert - Victoria's first established port with plenty of maritime history, some lovely architecture and has a good food reputation. McLoughlin's Beach- stroll along the boardwalk, cross the long foot bridge and walk to the wild stretch of the ninety mile beach. This is an amazing walk. Fish Creek village has a number of cafes and galleries. Home to the iconic Fish Creek art deco Hotel. Nearby wineries with wine tasting, food and cellar door available. Fishing spots around Corner and Shallow inlet. You can hire boats or kayaks from Charter companies and be taken out fishing in the region. Tarra Bulga National Park with lush gullies, giant mountain ash and tree ferns. Stony Creek Go Carts And more....
