Magical Hobbit Treehouse Nestled in the Jungle
Experience your childhood dreams of staying in a treehouse, even better since this one is inspired by the Hobbit movies, with round doors to enter and to access the deck. Imagine the adventure of arriving to your Hobbit treehouse by crossing a suspension bridge 15 meters up. Wake up to a symphony of bird songs and the occasional view of monkeys. Order room service from our restaurant and enjoy it on the deck or roof-top terrace. Later, go for a guided trek to a nearby secluded waterfall. My husband and I own one of Bali’s most unique boutique eco-resorts, Sebatu Sanctuary, which includes the Hobbit treehouse, and eight other distinctive accommodations. We’ve designed the Hobbit Treehouse for adventurers with one-of-kind features that includes a suspension bridge that leads to the rooftop terrace, a loft for kids (at least 7 years old), a queen-sized swing sofa on the ground floor, a balcony to enjoy breakfast with a view, a semi-outdoor bathroom, and a bedroom with arched windows on three sides providing views of the surrounding forest and terraced rice paddies. Begin your day with a sumptuous breakfast choosing from an array of Balinese and western dishes prepared by our in-house chef. Room service is available and you can dine either on your balcony or go even higher up to the roof-top terrace and enjoy sublime views of the terraced rice paddies across the valley. At the end of the day, tuck yourself into a top-of-line queen-size bed, 400 thread count cotton sheets. Our boutique eco-resort is compliant with the Green Globe and Earth Check sustainability standards. To reduce our environmental footprint, the treehouse doesn’t have air conditioning, but does have a high quality ceiling fan. We’re 600 meters above sea level and nights are typically quite cool. Our guests have full access to the 20m natural pool with unique bio-filter; the pool water is cleansed using ecological processes including native fish and aquatic plants. The pool overlooks a forested valley below and has a three-meter high waterfall that besides being great fun, increases dissolved oxygen in the pool necessary for the bio-filter. Bring swim goggles to fully enjoy the experience of swimming with 300 fish. We also have a full-service restaurant specializing in combining the best aspects of Indonesian and Thai cuisines, and room service is available. Our house is located on the same property and my staff and I are eager to help make your vacation on Bali truly unique and memorable. My husband and I love to explore the backroads and secret spots in the mountains and are happy to provide tips and or advice to our guest. Additionally, we have a fleet of fully restored vintage VW buses and a cabriolet beetle and rent those by the half and full day for tours. Experience Bali as it was in the mid-20th century near the historic and culturally rich village of Sebatu. Our village is one of only a handful that has sacred water springs and baths called Gunung Kawi, which has been inhabited for over 1,000 years. Sebatu village is also widely known throughout Bali for its waterfall with curative properties and wood and stone carvers, including Indonesia’s most famous wood carver, Pak Made Ada. Additionally, our village is famous for its superb Balinese gamelan musicians and starting in the 1970s, many of these musicians began touring in the US and Europe, with at least 15 musicians having played at the White House. Please note that the treehouse is up to 8 meters above the ground. We’ve designed it to be as safe as possible, but does require care when crossing the suspension bridge or going up the ships ladder to access the bridge. We’ve indicated that the treehouse isn’t suitable for kids from 2 to 6 years old. We do think that kids 7 years old and up can safely enjoy staying in the treehouse, which has a loft especially for them. However, care should be exercised and there should be an adult supervising a child at all times.
