The Stable - boutique rural retreat for two

A beautiful stable conversion within the gardens of Walnut Tree Cottage - a 15th century Tudor thatched cottage. Finished to the highest standards to provide light, airy and spacious accommodation. Located within the South Downs National Park - close to Arundel, Worthing, Findon, Angmering, Goodwood, Chichester. An ideal base for sightseeing, cycling and walking. Secure bicycle shed and wash down area. Private decked area with table and chairs for relaxing with a drink at the end of the day. The Stable has been converted and fitted out to the highest standard to ensure guests have a lovely stay. The Stable has two large airy rooms - the living area is entered across a private deck, with seating and table, and through oak french doors. The space has a comfy sofa bed which easily seats four, modern dining table and chairs, flatscreen, wall mounted Freeview TV, an extensive fitted kitchen with long worktop, large larder fridge/freezer, electric grill/oven, four ring gas hob, 4 slice toaster, microwave, kettle. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses. The large bedroom is adjacent to the living area. This too has oak french doors leading to the deck. Large built-in wardrobe and free standing chest of drawers to ensure lots of hanging and storage space. The king size bed has a beautifully comfortable fully sprung mattress with integral mattress topper. All the linen is 400 thread Egyptian cotton to ensure you have a wonderful nights sleep. The shower room en-suite is spacious with a shower large enough for two. Heated towel rail with bath sheets, hand towels and face cloths included. Large mirrored vanity unit for easy storage of toiletries. WiFi access throughout. Bedroom plugs have integral USB ports on each side of the bed. We have two mountain bikes available to hire (if available). Fantastic rides across the South Downs along the South Downs Way straight from the property. Contact us for further details. If the hens are laying there will be fresh eggs for you on arrival. Hens are free range and will enjoy any scraps you may have. Lots of wildlife in the garden including regular visits from wood pecker, swallows and swifts in the summer months, hedgehogs are often seen in the evenings. You will be woken with bird song every morning. We have a strict cleaning protocol - self-check in and out now to ensure social distancing. The cottage is cleaned from top to bottom and then sanitized. All linen is washed at a high temperature. All all crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils are washed prior to new guests checking in. We want our guests to know we have followed the guidance to provide a clean and safe environment for their stay. The cottage is left empty, ventilated and thoroughly cleaned before new guests arrive. Clapham is a perfect location for those who want to visit the historic town of Arundel (5 miles), Chichester for the Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival or Goodwood Racecourse (14 miles). Guests have full access to their apartment and deck with secure parking on private gravel drive (allocated parking space for guests) with electric gates for added security. Bicycles can be brought with guests and stored in locked bicycle shed. We are always happy to help and suggest great restaurants to eat in or places to visit. We have lived in the area all our lives and in Clapham Village for the last 22 years. Clapham is a rural village in the heart of the South Downs. Village shop and recreation ground and small village school. Mainline railway stations at Goring (3 mies) and Arundel (5 miles). International airport at Gatwick (35 miles). Excellent road links. Fantastic walks and cycle routes on the South Downs Way. Clapham woods are at the top of the road and full of wild flowers and bluebells in the spring. Easy walking distance to local pubs across the fields. Goring Gap beach only 3 miles away. Other beaches at Littlehampton (West Beach is a designated Site of Specialist Scientific Interest) and Climping.
