Family house in Hathersage, Peak District
Located right next to park and outdoor swimming pool in a vibrant village in the beautiful Peak District with good train connections to Sheffield and Manchester. Our 4 bedroom house is normally home to a family of five including 2 teenagers so has plenty of space, including a large kitchen - dining room, a piano, table football and plenty of books and a family 'lived in' feel. The location is ideal for exploring the hills and valleys from your doorstep - walk, run, bike, climb or swim! We let the house out while we are away so you have full access to it and the outside space. We let the house out while we are away. We live in a lovely village with wonderful views of the local Peak District countryside. The village has a range of amenities (pool, park, food and retail shops, petrol station and a number of cafes). There is excellent walking, cycling and climbing in the vicinity. We are close to the famous climbing area of Stanage Edge and to a variety of hill, moor and woodland walks. Well known country houses such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are about half an hours drive away. The village is also known for Little John's Grave and as a source of inspiration for Jane Eyre. There is street parking opposite our house. The village railway station is a 5 minute walk from the house with access to stations to Sheffield and Manchester. Buses run to Sheffield, through the Hope Valley and to neighbouring towns, such as Bakewell. Our house is an Edwardian house with four floors. Two of the three flights of stairs are steep, all have handrails. We have a downstairs toilet and shower and a bathroom with a shower and toilet on the first floor. We have some outside space including a table and chairs, accessed from the kitchen. There are beautiful views to complement outdoor meals if the British sun shines! Our back garden is almost adjacent to the park.
