Only 8 - 10 minute walk to Erasmus University and ONLY 1km from the center of Rotterdam (3 stops on the metro -about 4 minutes) to metro & train station "Blaak" . The Blaak is where the main public library is and where there is also the best fruit and vegetable market (Tuesdays and Saturdays) just about anywhere!. Kralingen was a village until 1895 and still feels like a village, very green with lots of trees, free standing homes and stately townhouses. The apartment has a nice entrance hall with space for bicycles. The living area that formerly was two rooms (dining & living room) is now one large room with a large desk and French doors that open onto balcony and garden. Bathroom has full bath/shower combination. The bright eat-in kitchen is parallel to the garden and is 8 meters long and opens onto a balcony. The apartment has lots of light and is continually updated and well maintained. A good Tapas restaurant and a Dutch restaurant are within a block. A very good Indian restaurant as well as a Thai, also Chinese and an Italian Grand Cafe and other restaurants are within 5 to 10 minutes walk along beautiful tree lined & brick paved streets. There is a Sony Bravia Flat Screen TV and a Sony compact stereo with I-pod dock as well as CD and AM/FM tuner. Nearby is a lovely very large lake and park with working windmills, sailboats and sailing school as well as horse stables. The park is also great for rollerblading !! Suggest you go online and check out nearby tree lined streets - Hoflaan, Avenue Concordia or Slotlaan to get a feel of the immediate neighborhood ... Host is fluent in English, Dutch, French & German and a little Spanish:)
