Old tuscan farmhouse with large garden and pool. Very quiet area surrounded by woods, trails, horseback riding ways, rock climbing. The house is 1000 m away from Buti’s village centre and main services, it is strategic place to reach both cities of art (Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Volterra, San Gimignano) and seaside resorts. It’s perfect place to conciliate culture, nature and relax. The house consists of two apartments on the first and second floor of an old farmhouse in respect of the old tuscan architecture. Apartment has separate entrance each, an equipped kitchen, bathroom and one double bedroom, one triple bedroom for a total of 10 people. The apartment upstairs has a dishwasher and a wood stove. Guests have access to the large panoramic garden where are available gazebo, chairs, tables, a barbecue, ping pong table and a pool. Outdoor areas and services are shared with other guests. The owners live in a small barn beside the house, always available for every need and information (in person or by phone), helping you to plan your stay as best they can. The house is seated into L’Ascensione’s contrada, a small medieval village surrounded by woods and olives groves, 1 km away from Buti’s village centre. We suggest to visit the romanesque style church called Saint Virgin Mary of the Snow (XI century AD), always open for visit. This small church is one of many stops of Saint Giulia’s way, pilgrimage way leading from Livorno to Brescia. Peaceful surrounding woods indeed offer many trails for hike, horseback riding and mountain bike. There are also some drinking water springs and a via ferrata called Sant’Antone rocky climbing way. Don't miss to visit the wonderful Chartreuse of Calci, located just few km from Buti’s village. Founded in 1366 AD by a group of Carthusian monks, the building has been enlarged between the XVII and the XVIII century AD and now appears as a marvellous baroque monument set into an evocative landscape. Nowadays the Chartreus hires two different museum: the National Museum of the Monumental Chartreuse of Calci and the amazing Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa. The pretty and cozy Lucca town is only 20 km far away from home. The town has many starting points for visiting, first of all an amazing walk on the ancient walls surrounding old town. There you can rent bikes, too. Discovering stone streets, many churches, little squares and cute restaurants let your visit very nice. Don’t miss the characteristic Anfiteatro square. Usually some antiques objects markets are seated around town’s squares. Every summer is planned the very popular LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL, with a lot of very famous guests and artists. In autumn, is seated the popular LUCCA COMICS & GAMES, with many stands about comics, many draftsmans and artists, dress-up clothes parades, recalling people from all Europe. For real motors fans, don’t miss to visit Piaggio’s Museum, seated in Pontedera 14 km away from Buti’s village. The Museum’s main attraction bringing enthusiasts from around the world is, however, the Vespa Collection, unique in its kind. Nearby are many traditional tuscan restaurants and cozy pizzerias. During summer season, many events as traditional food and wine festivals, concerts and theatrical performances are planned by local villages. Highly recommended to have own transport vehicle.
