Moon Cottage

Moon Cottage is a 3 bedroom Gite situated in between Isigny Sur Mer and St Lo in the Manche region of Normandy. The house is not a modern place but is well equipped and comfortable, please bear this in mind when booking. You are in a nice river side location and just off the D6 which runs from Isigny to St Lo, this gives you easy access to the N13 which runs all the way from Caen to Cherbourg. You have a whole 3 bedroom house to yourselves, will comfortably sleep 6 people (the price is based around 6 sharing so please bear this in mind when looking at our price per day). You have a river side location and can access our 3 acre field if you wish to explore. We are situated within 30 minutes of both Omaha and Utah beaches plus other significant D Day areas. Please be aware of just how big Normandy is, we are fairly central but a rough idea of travel times may assist in your planning and if you decide we are suitably located. . . . Mont St Michel, 1 hour 15 to 30 Omaha Beach, 25 to 30 mins Utah Beach, 25 to 30 mins Bayeux, 25 mins Pegasus Bridge, 50 mins approx Caen, 40 to 45 mins St Lo, 10 mins Isigny, 10 to 15 mins Cherbourg, 1 hour Ouistreham, 1 hour Please be aware that mobile signal here can be challenging, if you need us please email and we can get right back to you, please be aware of this as we may not answer immediately but will answer any questions as soon as we can. You will have the whole of the house to yourself with it's own private garden set beside the river Elle with countryside views. You also have access to the land directly opposite should you wish to take a walk and explore the land. We are more than happy to discuss any locations that you wish to visit and offer advice if required. We will also be running a private tour guide/shuttle service at a daily rate should this service be required. We are set just off the D6 down a small lane with only a few neighbors, 2 French and 2 British, everyone speaks and will always say Hello/Bonjour! There is a local shop (Proxi) in the village open from 9.30-12 then 2.30-7pm, there are bigger stores in St Lo and Isigny, if you require food etc you are advised to stock up before arrival especially in the evening. There is very little public transport apart from the occasional bus so you will need your own transport. Alternatively we will be offering a tour guide/shuttle service at a daily rate should people wish to be shown around all the attractions that Normandy has to offer, your daily itinerary can be either left to us or you can request a particular route to take in anything you wish to see and visit. We are on the D6 (approx 150/200 meters) so there can be some road noise, this is a big agricultural area so you can expect tractors etc in the spring and summer. The towns of Bayeux (20/25 minutes) and St Lo (10 minute) are excellent if you want a day out, shopping, lunch or a cultural experience. The D Day landing beaches are close by with Utah and Omaha plus the American Cemetery within 30 minutes drive from us, the British/Canadian sector with Gold, Juno and Sword beaches are between 45 minutes to 1 hour away. Mont St Michel is approx 1 hour 30 minutes away and is a stunning place to spend a day.
