Welcome to Koppany Pines Lodge a nature retreat in the protected Koppányvölgy Naturpark located on our small campground which has grown from an orchard and vegetable garden We are on the doorstep of a designated Koppányvölgyi hiking trail which is almost 100 km long and can be explored on foot, by bicycle or by horse. The guest house offers of 2 guest rooms, the Rose Room with en suite shower room and the BlueBird Suite with private lounge and shower room. THIS LISTING IS FOR THE ROSE ROOM. Koppany Pines Lodge is a unique way to enjoy the great outdoors whilst enjoying the luxuries of home comforts. You can swim in the pool, explore the forests and surrounding countryside, wildlife and fauna, visit the thermal spas. At night have a drink at the bar, sit and cosy up round the firepit and toast marshmallows. Spark the romance with a spot of stargazing or have fun playing floodlit boules before climbing into bed and wrapping in soft luxurious duvets and egyptian cotton bedding. An idyllic escape from it all. Sit quietly and you have an almost 100 % chance to observe wild animals such as red deer, roe deer and fox. Beautiful birds and butterflies charm our surroundings. Some other interesting, rare animals that are readily seen are bee-eater, golden oriole, white-tailed eagle, raven, yellow-bellied toad, European pond turtle, stag beetle, alpine longhorn beetle, common glow-worm, praying mantis. There is another nature activity which doesn't even require walking in the natural surroundings: stargazing. Because there's little light pollution due the the under development of the nature park, is the nighttime skies can be absolutely impressive. We have provided equipment so you will be able to admire the entire Milky Way. Prefer to walk into the village you will be able have a drink at the local kocsma (pub) or take the bus to Tamasi, the location of the nearest of three thermal baths. We are also able to organise trips to local producers of honey, wine and fruit. Whilst we are located in a rural area we are not remote and thanks to the natural richness of the region there will always be interesting things to see. The southern shore of Lake Balaton is only 30 kilometers, Europe's largest freshwater lake offering cruises and a ferry offering a chance to discover the North shore, busy and bustling it's a stark contrast to the tranquility of the park, but great to explore all the same. There's castles, museums and obviously the change to take a trip into Budapest. Prices are based on based on a continental breakfast but upgrades are available, as it a packed lunch facility. We are based on site and are happy to deal with an queries and are in fact building on the self guided hikes, where we will arrange drop offs and collection over the holiday period to ensure you don't miss out on the area. We are also able to arrange airport collection if requested. Koppanyszanto…is a taste of ‘REAL HUNGARY’ with a chance to see wine press houses amongst the vineyards, the local apiary, houses hung with paprika and the passing horse and carts, Koppanyszanto almost feels like it’s part of a bygone age. Take a walk to the local shop or visit the kocsma (pub)/pizzeria and share a drink with the locals who have accepted us with such hospitality. There’s a playground, football field and stream for wearing out the kids or having a picnic. The church stand proud on the top of the hill overlooking the village and is definitely worth a visit. The bus will take you to nearby Tamasi to wander round the Deer Park, maybe take one of the walks, explore the town or visit the Thermal Spa. There are several villages festivals over the year where villagers come together and prepare food, eat, parade, dance, wear traditional outfits and drink wine. It is often possible to buy the wine direct from the farmers or the traditional hungarian palinka. We are walking distance from public transport.
